Are you aware of the ''package'' you're presenting to the world when you step out of the door? Do you realise that you should be taking into account the total sum of clothes, hair and makeup when you get ready each morning?

The fuuny thing is as much as I love my designer gear I am equally as happy to run to the shops and get milk, bread etc in my tracky dacks, with no makeup and a two second hair do!

I would so not fit in with the likes of the Project Run Way Crew as I am not into shallow self obsessed behaviour as most of the people involved with these shows appear to be.

I think it is so much more important to be a good and kind person rather than a good and kind person with a Parada Suit and Hermes handbag!

Oh and frankly I don't give a fat rats what other people say I am representing by the way I look. Who cares! If I am seen to present a good or bad image to the world based on my hair or makeup is it really going to change life as we know it? To people with such shallow little lives who need to apss judgement on others based on how they look I say GET A LIFE BUDDY!!

As much as I wish I didn't, I care a lot about the image I project. I put a lot of effort in to the 'package" :chuckle:

I do, if it's work related. Otherwise, people have to take me as they find me. And if my appearance puts them off, tough. I am sure I have lost out through this attitude, but I also know that the people who stick, stick for the right reasons.

I take a lot of pride in presenting myself when going out or to work etc and sometimes spend way too long on things such as makeup and hair.

I have a lot of designer gear and bling to match but it doesn't define me as a person and I would certainly hope that I would not be judged according to what brands I have or what I look like. However I know people are quick to judge and this is why I always try to reserve my opinion of people until I have some idea of who they are as people before I decide where they belong in the social statesphere of life.

There is just far too much judgement in the world I think and frankly I think it says more about the people who are doing the judging than it does about those who are being judged!!

I agree Pcc. Sometimes it's hard not tojudge people on their appearance, but I always find my assumptions are wrong, so I've learned to ignore them.

Me too. I'd be horrified if someone saw me out (anywhere) and looked at my cruddy heels or unshaven legs or faded hair and made an assumption that I was a lazy bogan. And we all know that people do assume. I'd rather put in the extra 15 mins and be safe from judgment! Or, as safe as I can be anyway.

As much as it sucks people only take about 10 seconds to form an opinion of someone, and id say its all based on looks.

Agreed. It does suck - big time - but it's true.

As I said girls it says more about the people doing the judging than it does about you.

I completely agree with you about putting in the effort to look your best but seriously you could look like Elle McPherson and people would still find fault with you. I don't know if it's because I am older than you or whether it's just a me thing but I am totally over people judging me. They are going to do it anyway so whatever.....

Everything you've said is so true PCC - you are full of wisdom :hugs:

Yes, 10 seconds is the initial judgement timeframe - and we ALL do it. It's natural (it's part of our survival instinct), but it's not always prejudicial. The trick is, not to set it in concrete in the first 10 seconds. I tend to make my assumptions more on how people carry themselves and how they move than how they dress. That's a bigger give-away than clothes.
