Hey everyone
Just wondering if anyone has tried/uses this product? I'd heard it raved about and practically waited at the Becca counter when it came out last year, only to discover that I'm allergic to it. :tears:
I've never, ever, EVER had a reaction to a skincare product before and this was touted as being perfect for sensitive skin... but my face went all dry and flakey and stingy after I used this. Once I realised, I took a week off to see if it may be something else, then tried again, but the same thing happened. Sob.
I was so upset too, cause it smells so nice and feels so good and a primer/moisturiser/spf30 is a dream for me (I have to get to work by 7:30am). I guess it was too good to be true? :shakehead:
The Becca people were nice enough to give me a refund (on a myer gift card that I promptly went and spent on Blue Satin at the Chanel counter) but I was still bummed that I didn't get to use the wunderprodukt it was supposed to be.
Anyone else have problems with it? Or do I have schizo-sensitive skin ?

I love the Becca Mineral Primer and haven't had a reaction to it at all. However it is always possible to have something disagree with you and I guess finding out is the hard part. At least you got your money back. Have you tried Invisible Zinc before? Was wondering if this might have caused a similar reaction.

Welcome Sunili!
We've sold truckloads of the Becca SPF primer and haven't had any allergy complaints, so it's not common... that's the tricky thing with allergies though, ten thousand people can use a product and 9,999 of them would have no problems but maybe just one will have a sensitivity to it. Could have been anything - the fragrance, the sunscreen, one of the other base ingredients.

Has anyone noticed that Kate, James and Celeste are all online at the same time............. Must be a quiet patch in the office. What's happened to Lady Allison as I haven't seen her on in a while? Oh and say hi to Nicky in the Warehouse she works so hard and never gets to say hi on the forum.

I'm online all day but don't often get to check in.
Allison isn't online so much because she is SO BUSY with clients most days!

Hrm, no I haven't, that's a good suggestion, pinkcupcake! Maybe I am allergic to nano!zinc?? I remember reading something somewhere (it was clearly very note-worthy) is nano-ising is the next thalydomide, or whatever, but I promplty ignored it. Will slather some IZ on next time I see a tester and report back!
And hi James and Celeste and Kate and Rosie (and everyone else), thanks for the warm welcome (the wavey-smiley is seriously cute!!)!!

do you still use a moisturiser under the primer? I have combination skin and don't like to put layers of creams or I feel like an oil slick. Do you think this product would be fine to put on straight after cleansing?
Yep! That's perfectly fine!

Just thinking about Sunli's allergic reaction - not many people are allergic to zinc as it is actually a very calming and healing thing often used in treatments for dermatitis and such. However it has a strong scent which could cause reactions in some people - that marshmallow sugar perfume ain't normal!
