View Full Version : Looking for a deep green/gold shadow

Hi,

I am looking for a really deep green/gold eye shadow, I would love to find one that is more of an emerald green rather than a muddy green, if you know what I mean!

I was hopeful that the 004 (I think) Rimmel 8hr mousse was a deep green but it looks pretty pale on the Rimmel website.

I am looking to use it more as an occasional liner or for along the crease line for depth.

Oh of course it must not need a mortgage to buy!!

Looking forward to the responses!

Gilly,
I think Luisa might have mentioned that the Rimell Green she spoke of was very greeny gold. Remember that colour swatches are not always a true indicator.

Yeah, I would go to Priceline and check it out IRL.

I went to my local Priceline and they did not even have the 8hr shadow!
Tried KMart and they had 002 and that was it!

Gilly for a really intense green, try M.A.C Swimming; M.A.C Humid is also gorgeous, a bit deeper with a gold shimmer. You can see the swatches here:

It is infact a soft green gold Gilly. It looks like a blue teal on the lid and in the container but is a soft pale green with gold undertones. Not a good choice for adding depth, just a wash of colour.

The new Revlon Ltd Ed eyeshadows feature one with a green and gold.

I was going to suggest the new Revlon. Also, I have a gorgeous green/gold/bronze eyeshadow from Australis (yeah I know, but....), it's lovely!

Bloom e/s in Olive is greeny-gold, although more towards khaki green than emerald green.

I'm not sure how an olive/khaki would look on my eyes, I don't want it to look like a muddy colour or like an old bruise!! :chuckle:

No, it's greeny/goldy/khaki. Promise!

It's really very pretty. But as the others said, it's more a khaki green, and throws some gold shimmer. On your eyes it'd look gorgeous.

MAC have a gorgeous green/gold pigment called "Golden Olive". Pigments are great as the jar will seriously last you all year long! If you're one of those people who don't like pigments (cos they can be messy) then the MAC eye shaow in "Swimming" is also really cool. Links to both below.

Gilly I see you have green eyes, which I do too. I used to wear greeny/gold shadows but they did zilch for me and lately I have realised they don't suit my eyes at all. Have you thought about some other colours like pinks and purples? I find that the contrast makes your eyes look SO much greener than actually wearing a green shadow.

I realise this doesn't answer your question at all, but it's something to consider. My mum has green eyes too and keeps wearing green shadows despite me telling her that they really don't bring out the best.

You're welcome Fussy! I have soooo many shadows in all shades of greens and golds and really, they just don't do a lot for green eyes, whereas purples/pinks/plums look fab.

Even I think they look green on the computer!! :chuckle:

They must have picked up the colour from the trees outside the window!

Maybe if you used purple eyeshadow then you would look like you have green eyes all the time!!

M.A.C will definitely have a shade for you Gilly! Just go browse the site, they give colour descriptions of every shade swatch. I am still thinking swimming for you from the M.A.C Range. The M.A.C shadows are $32 each.

I am really loving the Jemma Kidd purple liner atm. It seriously does not budge yet it is SO soft.
