View Full Version : Your Prettiest Day!!
I'm just watching Oprah, and she is talking about her prettiest day- you know that gold (whoops I wrote red, but it was gold) Vera Wang she wore?? That was hers.
So go on!! What was your prettiest day?

What was yours VeeE?
Probably my 21st. I wore a Gold strapless 50s style Nelson Leong gown (it was verrrrrry expensive shhh ), Green sky high Marchiano heels, a little green mimco clutch. I got my hair gone that morning, and I did my make-up myself.
Rbb, maybe if you joined Facebook you could see some photos!! ;)
For those who do I have an album of my 21st and then if you look under my other photos of me, there are more floating around.
What about you Rbb? Or are you hoping that your wedding day will be it? :champagne:

Sounds gorgeous hon, what a combo!
I liked how I looked at a pal's wedding around this time last year - I wore a 50s cream dress with big pink roses all over it, and it had a matching belt, plus a crinoline to make it swing out for dancing. Pink heels. Hair was in soft waves.
I just love that dress!
PS :chuckle: I am determined to continue the boycott! Actually I have to talk to two of my juniors on Monday about cutting back use, they have it open all day - even while I'm giving them work to do, they're still checking out photos! Drives me crazy!

Naughty girls! I would never do that in front of a manager or someone senior to me!! In fact I'm hardly ever on Facebook at all, it a bit boring to be honest. But good to look a photos!
You should join the same!!

The prettiest I have ever felt was back in the 70's, when my mum made us matching outfits to wear to a horse race. If I was wearing 'grown up clothes' I must have been pretty, right? But looking at the photos - may be not....
I hope I was pretty at my wedding, long gowns make me feel pretty.

AAARRRGGGHHHHHH I have been seeing the ads for this all week and I kept going "don't forget to watch that, don't forget to watch that" and I FORGOT! Darn it all! I hope it's repeated - I just turned it onto W2 but it's almost over on that as well!

Anyhoo - I am going to be really predictable and say my wedding was my prettiest day. But really I have only been married less than 5 months so I can constantly refer to my wedding for a while longer, can't I?! :redcheeks:

I must say that I was an extremely cute baby and toddler with white hair, pink cheeks and navy blue eyes (I've seen the photos and I am jealous of my younger self) - my mum says all 6 of her little blonde children were always stopped in the street and given lollies and hugs!

Oh I was a pale blondie when I was little too, when we were in San Fran when i was about two, a busload of Japanese tourists all had their photos taken with me because they love little blonde kids so much!
So I'm with PCC, I think my prettiest day was in about 1985 and it's never quite picked up since then!

The day I went with my friend L to a wedding. I wore black pants, and a spaghetti strap cream top with sequins on it. My hair was up, and my makeup worked. I felt pretty darn good that day - although that may have been the fact that the people getting married were FINALLY getting married, and I was thrilled ot be asked to share it with tehm.................

I think the specialness of event does also assist in a super 'pretty' day - I suppose we all put that extra effort into outfits for really special moments where we can.

Well I find that hard to believe.
I was fat but I stayed the same weight throughout high school so I weighed the same weight from when I was in year 7 to 12. So now it's balanced out.

Yes I was quite overweight in high school, but there was a stage where I just didn't give a sh it about what I looked like, I never washed my hair and wore my bothers hand-me-downs. It was not cute. Not cute at all.

Oh my God VeeE this was so me too. I went through a major grunge phase and wore cutoff army pants and band t-shirts and had unwashed black and green hair! Horrible!! I had NO clue about fashion and makeup when I was at school, and I didn't care because I was more into books and bands. I'm so amazed now when I see high-school girls who have a total grasp on what looks good on them, what's 'in', what colours are best, they understand makeup and they have these amazing $300 haircuts and they've got it all together. The total opposite of what I was like at school. :shakehead:
I think I'm getting better and better too, although I'm also getting fatter and fatter, which is, yeah, not good. :chuckle:

I was THE cutest baby and toddler going around (if I may say so myself :chuckle) but I was feral from about 8 - 17. I was skinny then round with puppy fat and I had thick, massive eyebrows, yuk teeth and bushy hair. And big Harry Potter-esqe specs :chuckle:. But you know what? It's all about a bit of self love. I don't look 'pretty' as such but I think I usually look pretty good, and if you feel good it shows! How's that for a bit of Girl Power! :chuckle:

Don't be worried honey, he is really such a lovely man, he will make you laugh so much and will really work with you to design your dream dress. You're first session with him he will ask you a heap of questions about yourself - mainly what you like and what you dont like so have a think about that if you like (so you're not sitting there trying to think like i was) :chuckle:

I am not into frills and bows unless in the makeup variety in which case anythhing goes that's remotely cute.
I don't like anything to be too tizzy that I have to wear. I want my dress to be simple but elegant and classy. I want ivory, not white. Not too much beading or embroidery but I don't mind some for effect.
I have no idea what will suit my body shape, god I hope you can help me Mr Perry!
