I have just started trialling the Badger Cuticle Balm, and it is absolutely brilliant! I had heard about this brand from friends in the States, but never tried it.

The balm is not at all greasy after initial application, is quickly absorbed, and has worked wonders on my killer hangnails. It smells a wee bit herby, but not overly so.

I am going to be making sure I have this on hand at all times from here-on out.

So glad I picked this up today. Comes in a handy small tin, perfect for the handbag. I actually like the smell.:penguin:

It's not a 'bad' smell, just herby. A lot of hand and nail products tend to have sweeter scents (of which I am generally not a fan). At least the smell of this is the smell of the ingredients used in it.

I have the Chai Rose lip balm and the Anti-Bug Balm. I have also tried a sample of the Evolving Body Balm - which is very similar in texture and smell to rosehip oil.

Sleep Balm - that's the other one I have sampled - and it worked!! :glee: The cuticle balm is brilliant too!!

ETA:have roped Mr12 into testing with me, and after only 24 hours, he says he sees a difference. I don't, his hands still look terrible, but he is excited.

Now today I bought the Badger Lip & Body Balm, is this fine to use under my eyes or something in the daytime? Or is it better as a night treatment?

Luisa Brown

Is it the Chai Rose one? It contains Cardamon essential oil - I wouldnt put it anywhere near your eyes.

I just ran downstairs and got the tin - it's actually the Lavendar Rose Evolving Body Balm.

Cant see this on the Adore site Toastie. What are the essential oils? YOu will find them listed at the bottom of the tin.

Essential oils are lavendar, rose, tree resin and camomile. They are all good, no?

Luisa Brown

All ok but I have not come across tree resin? Test a smear on a small area and leave for a few hours. If you find it is ok to use just use a smidgen rubbed between your two ring fingers and patted on. Be aware that this is an oil based balm so may make your eyes puffy. Bet it smells delish! I am in love with the cuticle balm, I could just sniff it all day!

Thanks Louisa! That's interesting about the oil making eyes puffy - why does that happen?

Luisa Brown
05-04-2008, 06:45 PM
It has to do with the texture of the skin around the eyes. Creams are almost a foreign substance, so that's how they react. Also heavy creams or overuse can lead to milia (whiteheads) so go easy.;)

i think that jaime used the evolve one around her eyes b4

Ummm :redcheeks: Currently I am using the Trilogy Rosehip Oil around/under my eyes.. Is this ok?

Luisa Brown

It is fine but still can make eyes puffy. Use the tiniest amount spread between the two ring fingers and gently pat. Use only on the orbital bone as the oil will travel.

I did Fussy, it was the Evolving Body Balm....very similar in texture to Rosehip oil, and it was fine around my eyes

other peoples eyes may be more sensitive than mine?

I'm thinking I might need to try the sleep balm. The past few nights I have been lying wide awake for a few hours - which is so unlike me, I usually fall straight to sleep!

I bought some Sleep Balm for my friend in Melbourne and she said it smelt really nice etc.. Anyhow she was going to test it out last night but she wasn't planning on going to bed for another hour but she said she would put it on anyhow to relax her before bed... Well she didn't make it through the hour.. She had to go soon after because she was falling asleep at her desk!!
I haven't heard from her today but will update haha. She has had trouble sleeping for years and wakes up often too.
