ok... so if you do have a p e n i s and you are on this forum we want to know what your favourite beer is! Yep girls drink and can talk about beer too!

So boys jump on the forum band wagon... girls whip your boys into action and lets talk some tools and beer!!!

So my favourite beers is the Bimbo blonde (at Bimbos) and I love mountain goat and don't mind a corona...

I have had some recent debates as to wheather Fosters beets Carlton draught... your thoughts?

:D

My Boy's fave is Coopers Pale Ale or Crown.
I hate beer. I'm a Vodka chick but now I'm into Champers even though it wipes me out. I'm drunk on number 2!

Champagne is my preferred "social" drink even tho I dont like it that much and yes Medusa I too am sozzled after 2! I prefer a long tall Campari anytime or a serious shiraz.

My boy makes his own beer and wine and has even made a "Mexican/Corona" variety for moi for summer!:o

Medusa I'm exactly the same!! :drunk: I love vodka and apple juice (i like to think this is the healthy alternative to soft drink mixes) or vodka and cranberry. I have also migrated into Scotch and lemonade. A friend told me the other day she likes scotch and fanta!! Champers has me on the floor after a couple... I'm hopeless on it!

Oh yeah! What's with the Fanta?? I asked some girls @ a bar what they were drinking & they said it was white wine & Fanta Yuk! :vomit:
I love vodka with soda & lime or ginger beer & lime. Too easy to drink though!
I am just looking at my cocktail recipes now. I am throwing a cockatil xmas party soon so I'm working on the menu which will be asian finger food. I'm thinking the above ginger vodka mix, a pinapple/mint/vodka granita, slushy Pina Colada and a champagne cocktail with passionfruit sorbet.

I like beer, but I agree the best time to drink it is on a hot day.
My faves are: Corona (with Lime), Coopers Sparkling Ale (the green one anyways), Kilkennys, Heinken and others...

My other staple drink is Vodka & Cranberry, Cosmopolitans & Mojitos... Yum :hearts:

I also love a good wine with my meal. A chardy or a merlot are my faves..

I have always wanted to try that Watermelon trick. Now i have an excuse to try it. How exactly do you marinate it?

Beers...... where to start :drunk:. Tassie beers (of course), Little Creatures, Gage Road, (WA beers), Coopers, (SA beers), but nothing from QLD. Def not XXX.

Coronas on a hot day, Asahi + Heinekein sometimes. And thats just for starters!

I think the WORST beer i ever had was a warm can of West End (SA beer). I think i died a little that day.

Actually i take that back, it was a warm can of Duff beer. They used to make it in SA before they got sued by the makers of the Simpsons. The cans looked the same as they did on the show. A Case of those sells for a stack on Ebay. Or so i've heard.

I tried this in Greece!! I'm not sure what Jamie does, but it was a hollowed watermelon filled with vodka. You use a soup ladel to fill your cup, and it tastes like a watermelon drink. Very fun and very dangerous! lol

Vodka marinated Watermelon
Cut a hole big enough to fit a funnel into a whole watermelon. Pour half a bottle of vokda into the funnel. Leave it overnight then tip the remainder of the bottle in the next day. Serve at least 6 hrs later in slices, but I guess you could put it in the blender too.

There's this little place in Hobart that sells Margarita's in fish bowls! There is about two to three litres of drink in these massive fish bowls. You should see the people after they have drank one! I would definitely say that the people who supply these Margarita's haven't completed a responsible service of alcohol course ............. Yet! Lol:ashamed:

Definitely beer for a hot day. I like Corona, Little Creatures and Tooheys Extra Dry. But as I grew up as a country girl I can also tolerate a VB if there's nuttin' else around.

For more ladylike quaffing I go for a nice red, a bellini or a french martini. That's the one with a splash of pineapple juice, yum! I tried the dry martini once and almost passed out. It's a bit too much liquor for a one-drink-screamer such as myself.

Back at uni we did the vodka-soaked whole watermelon every now and again. Good times!

I bought some Egg Nog in a carton at the supermarket for xmas (it was with all the brandy custard etc). Thought I might try it seeing how it was a cool xmas in Sydney. :santa:
I have to say it was quite nice. It has no alcohol in it but had simple recipes on the side to make up drinks with poison or not. I just added some Tia Maria then sprinkled lightly with nutmeg. It was similar to TM & milk only creamier and more complex. It is a one shot drink though any more than 2 & you'd have to go brush your teeth.

Beez Neez is my favourite - it's brewed with honey, not exactly sure about how that is done but it's a lovely and you get a kind of honey aftertaste which is a bit different but really yummy!

Or Corona. But I'm usually more of a vodka girl. Except not so sure now about this whole drinking caper after last night!!! Still feeling very seedy...

Just a note that sometimes this method results in a HIT of vodka in one spot. Sometimes the best way is to syringe it into the watermelon to ensure even spread, but this is much more time consuming :P

My faves are little creatures, guiness, kilkeney, anything from the Belgium Beer Cafe in Perth (if you visit, you must go there! Good food and good drinks and you get a fluffy slipper), asahi is good too....dont mind some coopers or beez nees or... yes, the list goes on. As long as it is not too bitter i will like it.

Other fav's are - most cocktails, especially Bloody mary's, anything with baileys, frangelico, kahlua or lime in it.

Ahhhh beer! Love it! :redcheeks:

My current faves (remembering that NW Tassie is a hard place to get more than Boags, VB, or Cascade, with the odd Carlton thrown in). I don't like tap beer, too gassy.

Boags St George (local or not, near impossilbe to find)
Corona
Coopers Pale Ale - when I can get it
Moo Brew - made by Morilla Estate, verrrrryyy easy to drink lots of.

Not a fan of cocktails, most are far too sweet. No rums and no bubbly. JB & coke, Irish Whisky and coke, a good white, or a red (never together though, my head explodes if I mix red & white wine).

And for those doing the watermelon thing, my Nanna used to do similar with melon balls and Stones Ginger Wine (blech!) She'd put it all together in a tray, and turn the balls regularly so they soaked evenly.

A recent study found that the average Australian walks about 900 miles a year.

Another study found that Australians drink an average of 22 gallons of beer a year.

That means, on average, Australians get about 41 miles per gallon.

Not bad eh!

I never ever used to be a beer drinker, but it's funny how your tastes/habits change. Maybe we are starting to like more bitter things as we get older, I dunno. The thing that made me accept drinking beer was that I didn't want to be the girl who wouldn't get into the whole "sharing jugs and shouting rounds" thing because "she doesn't drink beer"!

I'm not a huge drinker, but nothing beats an icy cold beer in summer. The more bitter the better!

Ooooooooh a new beer! How I love beer!

Blue bottle beer, designed specifically to be drunk while dining on seafood. Must sample - preferably with seafood! :glee:

Has anyone done that Jamie Oliver trick where you marinate a whole watermelon with Vodka? I love the sound of that but wouldn't attempt it with kids around, my Boy is likely to slice it up & serve it to all the kids whilst I had it aside "marinating"!

We always have a vodka melon at parties, we also always have vodka jelly shots... but i forget there is alcohol in them and get drunk way to fast!

I could go a beer right now, watching the footy on TV. Hate normal footy, LOVE finals footy.

Asahi (I like dry crisp beers).
Knappstein reserve lager - sweeter beer, not surprising since its made by a winery I believe.
Frambois Raspberry beer.

Yeah that's true. Ok so there is an exception, but if someone drinks goon religiously then may god have mercy on their soul. :chuckle:

Vino that comes in a silver ballon, stored in a cardboard box. I do drink it, when I go out for meals, if someone else buys it for me because 99% of the time here (oh, the shame) it's all you can bluddy get - and I am NOT paying $7 a glass for Yellowtail, and no-one else is going to either!! Ninth Island, or a good NZ Sauv Blanc maybe, but not Yellowtail.

Goon bags, silver and made from fish oil in it. It's cheap and gross.

I just have to comment on the Goon topic. My friends made a Goon infused punch on the weekend it had everything in it, but next time we need 2 bags of good, it cost us a total of $20 for the lot. It was fun making it but it wasn'yt very strong, tasty though.

Passion Pop and OJ were my drink of choise in younger, poorer days. It got me by and it did the job. Those were the days.

Has anyone else heard of the "GOON OF FORTUNE"?

Beer is great on a hot day :) my faves are Hoegaarden, Boags Premium and Little Creatures. I also like Pure Blonde if I'm having more than one, because it doesn't make me bloaty :drunk:

Oh I like Hoegaarden whit( the pale white) also. I first tried this in Paris. It was served in this gorgeous deep, round glass with an elegant stem. Very lady like. Oh yes and it had lemon. My other favs are Becks( a nice clean beer) Ashanti and Corona.Preferably on a hot day and I never drink beer to get drunk. One or two beers max otherwise the 'bloat' happens.

Oh yes can't forget passionpop! So many memories lol

What's worse is that it comes in god awful flavours - I think lemon lime and a berry one - but still maintaining that good old goon aftertaste! :vomit:

At college during uni days if you got caught on campus carrying a silver bag of plonk by the seniors they would make you skull.. not pretty :shakehead:
