Hello girlies! :waving:

It might just be Friday-itis but I am sooooooooooooo struggling to stay positive today. I just want to go home and do fun things. I thought this might be a good thread for whenever we need to debrief and reach out to our adorables

Just being on here makes me feel better :champagne:

This is a great thread idea!!

I'm not having a bad day today because for some starnge reason i keep thinking its NOT FRIDAY!!! :chuckle:

I did have a bad day yesterday, not so much a bad day but an exhausting day. I had so much going on and lots of indepth work that when it came to 5pm i was completely exhausted.

I struggle to get through Fridays because like you CG i always think of the fun things i could be doing at home.

I love Fridays! It's Mondays that I sometimes struggle through!

Great idea for a thread CG. I hardly ever have horrible days at work as I mostly work alone, so it's more "boring" or "blah" than bad. But still a good (and much-needed I think) thread.

I'm just a bit over it today, finding my client's draining and not wanting to listen to other people's complaints over and over again! Generally, I love my job, but I'm just having one of those days!

Oh NO! That's horrible, you poor darling. There's nothing worse than hating your job. If you need to let it all out, feel free

I find it's not what I do but who I'm working with that make a job good or bad though. I was doing the exact same thing as I am now but for a different company last year and because of my boss and the lack of support I absolutely loathed it. Yet at this company (and the one before that yucky one) love it! Ok, maybe not love, but enjoy (most days).:chuckle:

I'm a "Job Capacity Assessor". I can hear you say "What the...?" I work for a private company who do assessments for Centrelink of their clients who either have medical conditions or personal issues (or both) that effect their ability to get/keep work. I identify these barriers, make recommendations re what services are required, determine what their capacity for work is and refer them off to the most appropriate service.

Most of the people I see are gorgeous people who either have a medical condition or people who are really down on their luck (or never got a break from word go). And for people in that second category they just need to be treated with respect and get support to make changes in their lives.

It's just really hard when I get people who are draining. And I'm a pretty empathetic person so you've got to be REALLY hard work for me to feel drained!

I'm just finishing my masters in counselling psychology and as soon as I'm registered I'll drop back a day or two to build up a practice.

Do you enjoy your job? Is it a good company to work for? It's fun to find out what you guys do, helps to build the picture for me :waving:

Well as it turns out i work for my dad's family business which is over 20 years old, so i was brought up with the business. I like my job usually but sometimes its hard for me working for my dad because he talks to me about work after hours and puts a lot of pressure on me to do things his way etc, but i also get a lot of perks. I started here full time 4 years ago as a gopher and within those 4 years i've worked my way up to accounts receivable/office manager by myself, he never gives me special treatment like that, i earnt it. I have a passion for business by i also have a passion for beauty thats why i'm i'm adore.... a lot, our company won't be around forever because my dad is gonna retired so i'm going to do a beauty therapist course next year and then go from there.

Despite having a crap day yesterday, it had nothing to do with work. I love my job and although it has been so busy of late, I wouldnt have it any other way. It is coming up to a year soon for me and I am so pleased I made the change. I feel so valued and my colleagues are just fantastic. Also helps not having a grumpy boss any more!:glee:

Oh what a wonderful opportunity for you to learn all about how to run a business! Well done :clapping: I know nothing about business. I have all these great ideas (at least I think they're great ) but then don't do anything because I have no idea where to start. Plus it all just seems to hard! :chuckle:

Good colleagues and bosses are EVERYTHING! I seriously believe I could clean toilets as long as I was doing it with a good bunch of people. Ok, maybe not toilets, but you know what I mean :chuckle:

I have 3 jobs, 1 in a sporting Club bar, 1 in a takeaway shop and a housecleaning job. The shop & the cleaning are pretty good, I still have 'Blah!' days, but that's generally just me, no the job.

The Club on the other hand, is an ongoing bad day at work. But I am hanging on, because the other two don't pay enough for me to leave the best paying of the 3.

That's tough hon. The need for money can make you feel so trapped at times. Hang in there babe.

:chuckle: Same here. I had to leave my job due to travel and school which sucked. But now that I'm at school it's ok, it takes up most of my time.

It's Monday morning and I'm already overwhelmed by my "To Do" list!!!!

I had the busiest week at work last week that I've had in probably a year and I'm left with soooooooooo much work to do. I know I'll get through it but gosh it just seems so much to get done that right now it's easy to get stressed :redcheeks:

I have to keep reminding myself that I can only do my best. I won't be on much this week except for maybe this thread! :redcheeks:

My job is okay...but not hugely 'social'. I've just come out a job that was very social - constantly talking to clients and discussing with the team, a very busy, full-on role. This one is a lot quieter and the team is also much quieter (and appears to be adverse to newcomers?). I don't ever really have a bad day, but I never have a really good day either. It's all a bit meh.

But it does pay a lot!!!!!!!!

A healthy paycheck helpsToastie!!

I am looking down the barrel of a loooooooong night. The local council will vote tonight on whether or not the Club can redevelop on a new site. If they vote 'No' we are dead in the water, the site we are on is not suitable for redevelopment.

Yes, if it's really great money it can definitely keep you in a good frame of mind about an otherwise ordinary job!

That's hard when you've come from a great working environment into a different way of working. Give them time they might just be slow to warm up. And although money isn't everything, make up is :chuckle:

What do you do Toastie?
