If you are looking for Christmas gifts for Mum or a sister Have a look at the Renee' range. Last Christmas I bought the Tubrose fragrance for my sister and she said people have stopped her to ask what she's wearing.

I am currently using the Tubrose fragranced soap and it's divine!

You can get matching body lotion, soap and the fragrance as well as the option to have the fragrance in a mini size for travel or the hand bag. (the mini will be my sister's present this year as she will be travelling over Christmas).

The fragrances are in Eau de Parfum strength so they really last and considering the price- a bargain!

Sorry to bring up such an old thread here, but I just received my Adore package containing the Renee Jasmine Oil and Tuberose parfum, and I'm in heaven!! I just love them. I keep bringing up my wrists to smell them & I've already had 2 compliments! I'll definately be buying more from this range. Well done Renee on getting the Jasmine just perfect. It's taken me ages to find one that actually smells like real Jasmine. :worship:

Good shopping girls. I am a huge Renee fan. I probably wouldn't have been had she not have been a guest on the forum. I have to say I am favouring the oils at the moment. Any more special guests on the agenda Kate?

Kate what about Napeoleon Perdis?? Probably wishful thinking, I know he's in demand all over the world...

Or Natalie Bloom?

Back on Renee I received the Jasmine oil today...it's such a beautiful scent, pure Jasmine fragrance but not at all cloying. Has a lovely warmth to it too. I'm going to order some of the others tonight!

Can anyone review Snowpeach? And/or Mediterranean Lily? Maybe I should just get the mini fragrance pack and be done with it!

To get my car smelling fab again I sprayed some of my Tuberose onto some tissues and put them under my carseat! Now everytime I hop in I'm greeted with a lovely smell!

What's Renee's background in perfumery? I don't find her fragrances all that well blended. It's okay for something produced in somebody's backyard but definitely nowhere close to the perfection of Serge Lutens, Guerlain, Creed, L'artisan, FM.

Now now, there are a lot of Renee fragrance fans out there and as you can see, on the forum. I suppose everyone is entitled to an opinion but pretty brave words as a first post my dear!

I must say I have been really impressed with Renee's fragrances. I think she is an awesome lady. As a special guest on our forum she was an absolute delight. I certainly am very happy with my Jasmin & Musk oils as well as My snow peach. I think support the Aussies! I collect perfumes and I have many from all over the world, I just judge each on it's merits and I honestly couldn't say a bad word about Renee fragrances. Everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess.

Couldn't agree with you more PCC. Fragrances definitely a personal thing and it's totally fine if Renee's don't work for you KB (we all have our faves after all).

However I don't think it makes them any less "quality" than any other brand. There are more than a few international lines that don't come close to some of our home-grown stuff. Just 'cause it's Oz don't make it Down Under.

I am one for supporting Oz brands too, and I think it's a huge achievement for Renee to go from this being a hobby to a business. As others have said here, everyone has their own opinions and favourites. I personally love them. They are affordable, and don't smell artificial at all.

I'm joining the line here, as a big fan of Renee fragrances. I know the point has probably already been made, but I feel compelled to respond to this. I will always the respect the opinion of others, and if a purfume doesn't suit or rock someone's world, so be it, but there is a huge jump from a personal opinion to suggesting that the quality is lacking in a product. That is a serious statement. I am so proud of Renee's line, as she is a fellow Aussie, (I am plugging her line to everyone I know!) and I love that I can get my hands on her beautifully crafted fragrances for such little cost.

I couldn't agree more. Renee's fragrances are affordable and unique. Wish I had the talent to build the company she has established. Kylie Minogue actually requested Renee fill her dressing room with scented candles etc from her range whilst she was doing her recent show girl concerts. Heck I say if it's good enough for Kylie it's good enough for me!

I bought my very first Renee fragrance the other day when I was in the Blue Mountains the weekend before last. I got the Snowpeach, and I think it's lovely. For a Parfum is very reasonably priced and I love anything that's peachy!! I will definatley be buying more Renee in the future... I am very interested in the candles.

Kate (Staff)
28-02-2007, 04:44 PM
The candles are gorgeous VeeE! Very well priced for the quality IMO - I think they are at least the equal of Diptyque and Tocca.

I had a chat with Renee at the Life In Style trade expo in Sydney on the weekend, she was displaying her new Shimmer Dry Oil spray which is to die for!! Basically it is a nourishing fragranced dry body oil, kind of like the Nuxe one but with pearly shimmer not gold, and the fragrance is called "Soft Glow" - a mix of coconut and frangipani and banana leaf, very tropical and gorgeous. She hasn't finalised packaging or pricing or launch dates yet, but I can't wait!!

Wow, it does sound beautiful - I've been meaning to try the Nuxe one but I might hold out for Renee's product!

Kate do you think in future she might do a line of body moisturisers to go with her fragrances? Or has she already and I'm just not paying attention (highly likely)?

She does do body creams already :) they are listed in with the perfume that they match with. E.g. in Tuberose there is a matching soap and matching body cream:

I like it! I only really use it when going out though, as the shimmer does get on your clothes a bit (although it does wash out). It's more shimmery than the Renee one. I use it on legs, arms, shoulders and decolletage. Apparently Uma Thurman loves it :)

I just ordered a sampler of Renee fragrances from her website (SOOO reasonably priced!) so hopefully I'll find one I love! I hate waiting for packages to arrive though, it's sheer torture!

But (and I don't want to cause a ruckus or piss anyone off here), does anyone feel that Renee's products are very similar in substance and appearance to Jo Malone? JM has a Grapefruit and a French Lime Blossom, Renee has Grapefruit and Lime. JM started out with Nutmeg and Ginger, Renee has Nutmeg and Orange. The candles look really similar (although how different can a candle look?). Even their packaging (cream and black with a black ribbon) is really similar. I'm not trying to bag Renee out, I think her products are divine, but if I were Jo Malone I might be a little bit miffed...

Well I got my gorgeous set of Renee samples in the mail today! They're really lovely and were of course boxed and wrapped in the lovely black box with the lovely black Renee ribbon (I know, I say lovely too much). But this is what I got really excited about - the package was addressed and posted by Renee herself (she even signed the "no dangerous goods" declaration lol), and there was a handwritten note inside - what a gorgeous touch!

I'll definitely be getting some more of her stuff. I'd recommend the samples too - $7.95 + p&h for five samples. It's a great way of finding out what you like if you don't have anywhere that sells Renee products nearby.

The customer service from Renée has been marvellous, I really appreciated the personal touches. She followed up my order note with an email specifically assuring me about a concern of mine; and the shipping has been fast and beautifully packed.

I am still testing the fragrances on me, so perhaps will review tomorrow. The body creams look quite lovely and would make great presents—has anyone reviewed these for texture, moisturising quality and scent longevity? I'd love to know!

I had thought at first that my samples of Mediterranean Lily and Tuberose might have had the labels switched over, but perhaps I just need another coffee and to clear my nose. The Lily did have very fresh green leaf-stalks-and-all lily as a top note, so I guess it's my nose. But the Tuberose doesn't have jasmine listed at all as a note and yet I am getting rather a strong undercurrent of indolic jasmine about a quarter of an hour into application.

Time for coffee...

Ozlicious

I can understand how you'd get jasmine from the Tuberose, there is a real heady sweetness underneath it. I always always smell violet in it, yet apparently there's no violet either! They mystery of the secret flower?

Yes. I am wearing it today actually.
The Amber is quite heady. Sorry I'm not a fragrance buff so I don't know how I'm suppossed to describe it. It has that darker colour in the bottle, like tea. It smells musky but not a girly musk. Could be unisex. It kinda reminds me of those heavy musk perfumes like Opium.
I wear it at night or on dark cold days as oppossed to wear coconut to the beach or Tuberose on a sunny spring day.

OK you Fragrance gurus I need your help.
I love my Renee fragrances but as I have the little vials that I need to dab on I am experiencing 2 problems.
1. This is very painstaking. I like to spray & run.
2. I find that when I dab the scent on my neck I get a little sting.
I prefer to spray onto my clothes. Any solutions? I was thinking about decanting into those little atomisers but seeing as how I have 5 vials it could be exy.

This is way late I know, but I only just read it! PCC Renee's Amber is quite masculine in my opinion, perhaps if you were a bit older or a fan of androgynous orientals it might work. Having said that, it does have a rich-fruit, spicy quality about it. Very oriental. Why don't you order the sample vials from Renee and have a sniff??

EDIT: I got curious and dug out my sample of Renee's Amber and popped a bit on. It's gooorgeous! Not my usual kind of thing at all, but it's definitely something I will consider buying my Mum for her birthday.

FYI - yesterday I found some really cheap purse atomisers for only $2 in a bargin shop. :glee: They are quite nice too. Metallic silver, blue, pink, gold. Just wish they had an extra colour as I have 5 Renee scents to decant. There were the perfect size too, 10ml. Problem solved.

Satin Shimmer is scented with a sultry tropical-inspired cocktail with top notes of Green Banana Leaves, Coconut Oil and Water Fern, middle or heart notes of Pink Honeysuckle, Frangipani, Plum Blossom and Hyacinth with a base of Ambrette Seed and Dry Woods.
