Women can take three hours - or three minutes - to get ready, a Dior-clad Cameron Diaz told Australia's red carpet commentator Richard Wilkins at the Academy Awards yesterday. With her casual blonde ponytail and natural looking makeup Diaz may perhaps have erred on the matter-of-minutes side of preparation but we don't think so, do we? As Laura Linley told Wilkins ''it takes a village'', even if that village in Diaz's case (http://bellasugar.com/1069659) produces stylised scruffiness.

It takes me ages to get ready to go out. I always take forever to do my makeup etc. It's not that I am vein or anything I'm just retardedly slow!

Yeah, I think Cam went the 3 minutes, and spent far too much time unprotected in the sun! I don't do a lot with makeup, but even I take more than 3 minutes. But not 3 hours.
Oh I know Rosie! Look at her skin! :shakehead: She has darker skin on her face than her body so I don't even know if she chose the right foundation. I think the ponytail hair and what she wore was great, but her skin, makeup and chewy not so.
If I'm going from wet hair to going out it takes me about an hour to get ready, if my hair's dry and done then it takes about 40mins. I think that's pretty reasonable. I mean I can be faster than that if I need to, but I won't look as good :chuckle:

My biggest time consumer is finding an outfit i want to wear, so i usually work this out on my head so when i'm getting ready to go out i'm not throwing clothes all over the room in frustration.

I do this too. Then I end up in the thing I put on first

I thought Cameron was a little scruffy also. Did anyone else watch Kamora Lee Simmons analysing the red carpet with that other E girl on foxtel? Hillarious! Fabulosity fabulosity fabulosity!

I'm basically the same, although an hour is cutting it fine if I want to look really good, especially if I have to blowdry AND straighten. If I'm in a rush I always end up forgetting something important, like earrings or highlighter. Usually if it's something big or important I'll give myself an hour without hair and an hour and a half with hair. If it's just regular dinner or something, then yeah, an hour with hair and 40 mins without.

Oh I am a compulsive pre-planner. I would never plan an outfit as i am getting ready, I always plan it in my head the day or days before!!

It takes me ages to wake up, so I'm always starting one thing and forgetting to finish it, while being totally unco - dropping deodorant, banging my elbow on the bathroom sink and flinging powder everywhere. For someone so organised at work, my home skills could really use a hand.
On average it takes me about 40 minutes, can crack it down to 20 if I need to be somewhere.
Cam needed to spend a bit more time, me thinks.

Yep I agree but how awful that she is not going to be able to live this look down until hopefully she redeems herself at next years academy awards!
That's an entire year of having the crap bagged out of you!

Maybe it'll inspire her to start using sunscreen.

I dont think she'd ever embrace the pale porcelain princess look. shes much more sporty and, less sophisticated. she has a strong appeal to many men but if i was a guy she wouldnt be my ideal.

I'm going to the local country style small town show this saturday night for the rodeo etc and i've had my outfit planned for weeks but now i'm having second thoughts on it. Its a huge night for the young people in my town and its always great fun, however we have to walk along way home so i need something warm and comfy shoes. Sometimes it would just be easier to wear pj's everywhere with uggs!
