Hi Alison

I am hoping that you can help me with my routine please. Here is what I am currently using on my skin. I have been following this for about three months or so now.

AM
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Dermalogica Multi Active Toner
Ultraceuticals Hydrating Gel
Ultraceuticals SPF 30
Olay eye gel

PM
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Dermalogica Multi Active Toner
Ultraceuticals Ultra hydrating cream
Olay eye gel

Twice weekly
Ultraceuticals exfoliator (in place of cleanser)
Dermalogica Clay mask

I am 26 years old. My skin is normal/combo and very fair. I burn very easily and live in quite a dry climate. I don't really have any issues with breakouts - just the occassional congestion around my chin if I haven't been eating as well as normal. My concerns are that I have some areas of dehydration ( mainly cheeks) and sensitivity. I also think I need to use a more potent eye cream as my eyes are starting to show their age. I have quite sensitive skin and react to anything that is too fragranced or with too many plant extracts. I would also like to prevent as much sun damage as possible. I don't smoke or drink. I eat pretty well and take multivitamins every day. Obviously I avoid the sun as much as possible as well.

What products would you rec that I either add or drop from my routine? I don't want to make it too complicated as I am about to have a baby so will probably be a bit time poor for a while. I don't mind spending a bit of money on new products either.

Thanks in advance

Hi Jolie,

of the products that you are using are there any that you really like or find are not as effective for you just so I know how you feel about what you are using there...

Hi Alison

I am pretty happy with most of my products. I really like my SPF moisturiser and the hydrating gel seems to work well underneath it for my skin. I would like to try a new eye cream. I am also wondering if the cleanser I am using is too drying to use twice a day, thus contributing to my dehydrated cheeks. I have been using this as my cleanser for a number of years, but am not devoted to it if there is a better option out there. I am also wondering if I am using the right moisturiser at night, or if I should be using something that does more for antiaging prevention. I do like the texture of it and it feels lovely on my skin. I am happy to explore using a serum or treatment product underneath it to enhance its effectiveness.

Hope that helps
Thanks

Hi again,

I think it may be wise to choose a more milky cleanser like the ultra milk cleanser: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1826

I think you can continue to use the SPF and day moisturiser that you are enjoying, but I will introduce a serum and a moisturiser and then in another three weeks one more serum so your routine will look like this:

AM
ultra milk cleanser: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1826
Dermalogica Multi Active Toner
C+AHA serum:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=4350
Ultraceuticals Hydrating Gel
ultra c eye cream:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=10458
Ultraceuticals SPF 30

PM
ultra milk cleanser
Dermalogica Multi Active Toner
ulta a treatment serum:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1828
use the ultra hydrating gel here for the next three weeks then replace that with the rejuvenating cream:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=386
ultra c eye cream

Twice weekly
Ultraceuticals exfoliator
dermalogica clay mask

this means you have a very age prevention focused eye cream and two fantastic serums which will deal with both the combination and dehydrated elements of your skin right now as well as treat fine lines.

how does that sound?

Hi Allison

Thank you for your advice. I will get on to it asap and let you know how I am going in a few weeks. I had been thinking about using a gentler cleanser. Would I be correct in assuming that I would double cleanse at night time to ensure that all of my sunblock is removed? Otherwise it looks great and I am looking forward to getting started. Hopefully I will see some results and keep my skin looking good - even with lots of sleepless nights to come.

Thanks again

Hi again,

a double cleanse in the evening is a good idea to completely get rid of make up and pollutants and your sunscreen too.

look forward to hearing how you go!
