Hey there,
I am 35 years old and am having a real battle at the moment with my skin. i have combination skin. Dry cheeks with a shine in the t section by the end of the day. I am also naturally red haired with very fair freckly skin which burns quickly. My skin is also pretty sensitive to some products. At the moment my chin area and neck is suffering from breakouts continuously. I have a lot of bumps underneath the skin in the chin area that i cant get rid of. I also have concerns about the lines deepening around my eyes and mouth area. I cleanse and moisturise twice a day and exfoliate twice a week. I am currently mixing and matching products just trying to get something to work however it is just not happening! Can u suggest anything?
I have a healthy diet and drinks lots of water.
Thanks

Hi Rachel :waving:
Allison will want to know what products you are using & how you feel they are or are not working for you.
Chin, jaw & neck are notorious hormonal breakout areas.

Hey There,
I have tried Algologie, Ahava, Fleur de mer products, Almay products, Marykay even tried Avon products but nothing seems to improve the bumps. I realise that they are hormonal as i never had any skin probs till after i had my son 4 years ago. I know i may not get rid of them, but would just like to improve it some what. I cannot take the pill as it makes me sick so that is not an option either!!!
Thanks

I'm the same. Stoopid bumpy jaw  and then every month one comes to the surface like a big red cyst with no head to squeeze. Drives me :explode: Contraception is not an option for me either - gyno issues.
I use Ultraceuticals Even Skin Tone Serum on my breakout areas. This really helps mop up any oil & keep my pores clean. It zaps zits fast too. I swear by their eye cream too. It plumped up the dehydration lines around my eyes quick smart.

Thanks Medusa,
I accept the fact that even after all my younger years with problem free skin that i am going to make up for it now!! Karma they call that!!!LOL. But yes, its the knowing that those bumps are going to cause me a big awful painful pimple at any time they wish that annoys me. Also with summer coming and living on the coast in NSW makes for awful skin during this time so i really want to get on to it now. With reference to the pill...my doctor once told me about a cream that you can get on script that you apply to the inside of your wrist everyday to regulate hormone levels. Have u heard of this or maybe someone else has tried it??? I cant remember what it is called but i know it was quite costly. I am wondering wether it would help the face!
Thanks again Rachel
P.S this is a really cool site!

I know I am totally addicted. :ashamed:
While you are waiting for Allison to reply you should have a look thru the Ultraceuticals, Alpha H and Invisible Zinc threads. We are big fans here & I am sure Allison will reccomend at least one of these brands. Many of us have similar skin complaints so if you do a search I'm sure you will learn a few things along the way.

Hi Rachel,
Until you are able to speak to Allison I would keep your skin care routine very simple. Do you have any cleanser such as Cetyphil or Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream? If not just use the bare minimum of products until you can speak to Allison as you don't want to upset your skin any further.
Good Luck:hugs:

Hi Rachel,
thanks for being patient- busy with private consults this week and so on...
What I would like to know first is what your skin has reacted to in the past and I can avoid these ingredients. Do the bumps worsen at particular times or when you eat particular things?
what do you currently do to take care of your skin? This will give me an idea of how complicated or simple you like things to be also..
I shall wait to hear from you.

Hi Alison,
Thanks for getting back to me. Firstly just a brief description of my skin at the moment. I have dry cheeks with a slightly oily t section at the end of the day and when i wake up. i have open pores /blackheads on my nose and get black heads alot on my lip line which really hurt. My chin has visible lumps underneath the skin, they are not red or huge but the skin to me looks awful and every month i get a pimple in that area. i also have a lot of lines developing around eyes and mouth area. My skin feels thin is the only way i can describe its texture and looks tired and i think looks even worse when i put foundation on. I have tried a lot of different products over the last 4 years and and am currently just using an avon cleanser and moisturiser with sunscreen. However alot of the foamy washes make my skin feel tight and stripped while the milky type makes me greasy. I prefer a really simple skin routine and i really dont like heavy moisturizers which leave that greasy feeling. I honestly cannot tell you what ingredients my skin reacts to because if my skin does react i just dont use it anymore! Some products have in the past given me the burning cheeks feeling. I have a fairly good diet with lots of fruit, veges and water and the only thing that really makes me breakout is if i pig out and have a lot of oily food. I am a redhead with very fair skin and freckles so i burn at the snap of a finger also. I would really just like something that i am not going to waste my time or money on as i have done a lot in the past!!! So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rachel

Hi Rachel,
firstly I think it's really important to see someone who can work to naturally correct those hormonal fluctations. I can refer you if you are based in melbourne but I think 'correct' is where it's at rather than 'band aid'. If you would like a referral please feel free to private message me and I can chat about options.
As for a simple routine to start the topical clearing process here is what I suggest to begin with and we can then expand on it if you would like to.
AM
cleanser with ultra milk cleanser but do this with damp hands so that it froths a little- it will feel lighter than a traditional milk but not as gelly as a gel cleanser:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1826
Follow with application of the ultra a treatment cream: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1832
(skip this for the first week of using this new program as once a day is enough of this cream and we are using it in the evening also, if you have a moisturiser you can use at this point of the routine just for the first week that would be fine.)
finish with the invisible zinc junior sunscreen:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=9741
this will be fine for the little one too! feels light on the skin but gives excellent broad spectrum protection
PM
cleanse as above
apply even skintone serum:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1829
start on this every second to third night to allow your skin some ajustment time and gradually build up the frequency.
follow with the ultra a treatment cream.
the retinol in the treatment cream will begin to address that again concern. As you feel ready we can introduce other products to really boost the skin in this way.
do you have an eye cream- would you like a recommendation?

:glee:Hi to all!
Just to let you know that i have been using the Ultraceuticals range as suggested by Alison and my skin is feeling and looking terrific. A question for you Alison is should i now be using a mask of some kind each week or just keep doing what i am doing. Also a suggestion for a eye cream would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all you guys for comments etc also!
Cheers
Rachel

great to hear that you are going so well!
Eye cream: ultra c sheer- the best for aging (with vit c and retinol): http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=10458
a mask for your skin that deals with both clearing and hydration (15% glycolic mask): http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=383
you can alternate that one or apply that after applying the purifying mask: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=385
