Pure Fiji Coconut Creme shampoo & conditioner. :hearts: Loved this so much. made my hair silky & smells gorgeous. Adore no longer stoc & it can be hard to get but if you are going to Fiji you MUST try this range.
Tigi Catwalk Curls Rock, curl amplifier. No bad. Its a cream that gives a mousse effect. Can be a bit crunchy but gives good definition. I found it hard to brush out though.

Oh Medusa I hate that when it does the crunchy thing. Especially when you're blonde or blonde highlights it always makes the curls look darker than what they really are. I mix some serum with my styling creams, mousses etc which seems to rectify this and yet still holds the curls but with some of that softness you want instead of the ole "crunch!!"

The best thing I have found for my curls is that humble sunsilk light hold mousse... makes my curls look fab and is not crunchy at all. It's cheap too.

Oh cool. I have been hanging for some Aveda reviews.
What type of hair do you have? Tell me more!
I've got fine hair (but lots of of it - an inch or so past my shoulders) with highlights, lowlights and a base colour that is about 3 shades lighter than my natural colour. I went 7 months without a cut and my new hairdresser was amazed that I had no split ends, particularly because I wash, blowdry and GHD my hair every day. My colours are also Aveda.
I haven't used the other shampoos and conditioners in the range, just the Damage Remedy products (including the treatment once a week). I like Aveda because it works. I buy by the litre and they usually last 5 months or so as you don't need to use much.
Medusa

So do you go to an Aveda salon?
PilatesPanther
07-12-2007, 04:48 PM
Yes, I go to an Aveda salon for cut, colour etc. They always give you a great head/neck massage as well.
I don't buy my products from there as they're just too danged expensive. It's actually cheaper to buy them from the US and have them shipped here! Good deals can usually be found on eBay, and there's often sample sized products on there if you want to try first.

Finished Fudge Skyscaper hairspray today. I really hated the smell of this - very industrial chemical like. :vomit:
So I need to get a new hairspray girls :spin: I have several mini sized hairsprays to use in the meantime. I want one that will brush out, hold down the fly aways in my ponytail and smell nice. I sniffed the Tigi one which smells like lollies as do all their products but $$ for a smallish can.
What do you think about Hairspray - can you get away with a supermarket cheapie?

Guys, I have tended to buy the hairdresser ones but particularly with the laquers, almost choked on the smell. I picked up the VO5 extra firm hairspray from the supermarket (Priceline has this as well) and it is fabulous! Holds flyaways and my fringe and smells subtle. I even put my mother onto this one as she coughs and splutters with most hairsprays (anyone remember Cedal days!:chuckle:).
This one is under $5 for 200g and now states that it is a new formula. It also comes in "firm" hold and the nozzle never cloggs up! Certainly worth a go at this price!

Vee, I have been using this since our Melbourne weekend, and my notoriously cranky hair hasn't 'gotten used' to it yet. I have been experimenting with mising it in with other conditioners, as I know that my hair will change in the next month or so to it's cranky, greasy hot weather presona, and am having fab results with 2/3 whatever, 1/3 Terax.

God, is it just me or does haircare take SO long to get through??!! I swear I have not properly used up any type of haircare in forever!
OK this is what I hate. A large part of the appeal of any hair product for me is smell. If it smells great, it basically sells it to me, and if it smells gross it really turns me off, even if it's a great product. Anyhoo I really love everything about Tigi Brunette Goddess, and my hair really loves it, but I hate the smell! I don't really want to repurchase because of the smell but I like purpose-made brunette products. But I hate how all brunette products have a chocolate/coffee/toffee/almond smell! I want someone to make a brunette shampoo and conditioner with a light floral or fruity fragrance. Blah.

Oz i go through shampoo and conditioner like there is no tomorrow, but thats because i have really thick, medium to long hair and also my HD recommends i do 2 shampoos and then conditioner. Your hair is alot shorter so you wouldn't need to use as much shampoo and conditioner. I know what you mean about all purpose made brunetter products are all chocolatey or toffee and just sweet smelling in a sickly way.

Yeah your hair is a lot longer than mine, but i do seem to use it up quickly. Either i use to much at one time or the type i'm using does do the trick so i have to sue more product to get a better result.

Loola I heard that most people use too much shampoo and that they should use less shampoo and rinse for longer. I tried doing this but do you find it difficult to get all the shampoo around your head? I mean, to spread it equally? I find that I keep adding more shampoo in order to "feel" it working! Do you just get used to no lather and no "excess"?
loolabelle
29-01-2008, 01:46 PM
Yep - you adjust, but you kinda ned to retrain yourself. I only use it on my top and let it go down the rest, sometimes I will do it twice but I am still using far less than I used to.
You also then don't get little bits you can get that show in dark hair when you haven't reinsed properly or there is excess.

Sorry M, only just saw your post!
I heart Liquid Mousse - it's like a very fine mist that you spray into damp hair before blowdrying. I find it gives me just enough volume and hold - I have thick hair but it tends to get heavy and flat if I don't use any product when I blowdry.

Well, a couple of nights ago, I used up my Alchemy Lemongrass shampoo. So I had to go back to using Head and Shoulders for one night. Well, my scalp was not very happy with that at all!
Although the Alchemy didn't get rid of my flaky scalp completely, it did relieve the itching I had, so therefore my scalp was less irritated. But the second I went back to Head and Shoulders, I came up with these huge patches of dryness and flakiness, and they were so sore and irritated. So it's back to the Alchemy for me that's for sure!

Yep, mist not foam. I use it to blowdry my hair with a round brush, so yeah, technically it's straightening but with body. I've also used it after my nice sleek blowdry has been ruined by getting rained on - I just sprayed a bit of a Liquid Mousse into it and scrunched it a bit, hoping for a bed-hair/wavy effect. Worked pretty well. I don't have curls though, so can't speak for any curl definition properties!

I prefer Batiste and generally use the Tropical scent one (I can hardly find the original scent anymore). The tropical smell is a bit much but it dies down after a while. I do think the Batiste is a better product because the Klorane dries out my hair a bit and makes it feel yucky.

It's completely different to dry shampoo Fuss, it's almost like the opposite. It's a light spray-on oil that you spray onto the midlengths and ends of the hair and leave for a few mins (it says 10 but I massage it in for about 3) before you shampoo. It just gives your hair an extra layer of protection and nourishment so you don't shampoo the crap out of it. I love it. Its main ingredients are like grapeseed oil and sesame oil so I could probably buy a spray-on kitchen oil to do the same thing! :chuckle:
