Make Me Smooth made its online debut on August 29th, 2000 and is located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It's a family business, owned and run by Nancy & Murray Wasley. Nancy is a trained MA, and Murray's area of expertise is IT.

I have tried a large percentage of their products, and have been impressed by the quality of all of them, even the ones that I have decided not to re-purchase. Their CS is as good as that here at Adore - I honestly can't pick between the two, they are both brilliant. :hearts:

The thing that tends to kill me is the shipping cost, although, if you order over a certain $USD amount shipping is free. This varies from month to month, but is usually around $65-$80USD, and let me tell you, it's easy to hit that. They also offer discounts on orders over a certain value, and Staff Picks and d/c scents are offered at a 15-20% discount. These change monthly.

There are currently 672 scents on the Scent Menu Bar, and that's before the International forum, where people list their Custom Combos, as well as their thoughts on products/scents.

Oh my lordy I dont know where to start!!! How do you decide what to buy!!!!

They all sound so good. I thought i hadI found one, then I read one I liked even more, and so on and so on!! its painful!

Do you have an absolute favourite Rosie? Or can u recommend a great one with Vanilla?

I like Vanille Coco Folie for vanilla, it's warm and sweet, but not foody. Bahama Vanilla is great too, it has a fruity not in it, but again, not foody. Fluffy White Sweater is nice, but too foody for my tastes. Kiss of the Vampire is Bourbon Vanilla with flowers :hearts: very sultry and seductive that one.

Pink Satin V-String is droolworthy, I love that one, even though it's slightly foody. Temple of the Goddess is TDF - I absolutely adore this, the black raspberry in this is fab, and the patchouli note holds the other 2 together, but isn't overpowering. Vanilla Flower melts into the skin, and is a lovely warm floral-ish (but not floral) vanilla.

Tahitian Vanilla is lovely on my Mum, but doesn't work for me, it's slightly tropical with the coconut & tiare (the rum note throws wrong on me). Rock Goddess is lovely too, but too sugary for my tastes.The description is spot on actually.

I have Rosie Loves Vanille, but it still needs time to marry up. I think I am going to be :hearts: this though, it is already settling into Phwoar!

Flower Bomb - Viktor & Rolf dupe - spot on
Lolita - a Lempicka dupe - ditto
Calla Lily - a slightly green floral

ETA: There is a 3-4 week Turn-Around-Time for orders. Orders are made the day they ship, and thus may need time for the fragrance ingredients to 'marry' before they will throw a true scent. Should you order, bear this in mind, if you hate it the day it arrives, give it a week or 2, then try again. You may be pleasantly surprised. If not, there's a swap section on the International Forum.

I have tried 3 of the 5. Babe-Cakes is too heavy for my liking. Not greasy, just heavy, I prefer a lighter texture. That said, it moisturises very well.

Sweet Fluff isn't as heavy, it's more like a whipped Babe-Cakes, again not greasy, and absorbed uber-fast. I like this one. Lots and lots.

And my personal fave - AB&MS. This stuff is brilliant! It only takes a tiny, tiny bit, or you end up greasy. It is fantastic for hair, gives a lovely scent pay-off and shine. On skin, you get a nice lustre, with great moisturisation. But I am not kidding about how much you don't need, it goes a very long way! This is a bugger of a product til you get the hang of it, but once you are there it's fan-freakin'-tastic!!:penguin:

See this is why you should try some BPAL's PCC.. they have some really lovely vanillas and foodies.

However I'm sure MMU will keep you busy for a while!

It IS rather overwhelming.:spin:

Select your product, then the size, then the scent you want. Add to your tub. In the process you will discover many, many other things you *must* try (I do) and get even more confuddled.

At the end of the process, when you checkout, you will be given the option of selecting how strongly you want your products scented. There is also a comments box at the bottom of that page, where you can put more specific insturctions/requests/questions.

And for those who :hearts: vanilla, I would recommend either Vanilla Flower (gorgeous, seductive, not foody, melting vanilla - uber sexy) or Kiss of the Vampire (bourbony vanilla and heady florals, very sensual).

Oh Rosie, I want them all!

Bahama Vanilla - creamy vanilla, with light tropically fruit. Not a 'foody' sniff as such.

Temple of the Goddess - Black Raspberry & Vanilla - OH MY GOD!!!

ThaiPhoon - Lemongrass & coconut with a tiny hint of tiare - this is just heavenly!

Seduction of the Foolish Lover - Initial hit of apple, then a melange of cranberry, vanilla and a hint of wood moves in to underly the apple. This one gets a LOT of positive remarks.

Vanille Coco Folie - almost but not quite foody vanilla - nice and rich. Sexy as.

Aliens - Really hard to describe this one - it's unique and divine.

Ghost - lychees..................... *drool* Flowers - quite a 'light' scent.

Cherry Blossoms - light airy floral with a hint of something fresh.

Silk Slip - caramel, but not foody. Sexy.

Neroli di Orsini - Orange Blossom of the finest order.

Rosie Loves Vanilla - I wasn't sure of this initially, it smelt plasticky. But experience has shown that if you wait you will be rewarded. Gorgeous sweet vanilla and roses, with a hint of musk. This will get better with age.

Best Friend - light, sweet citrus. Not sharp at all. I smell oranges/mandarins and flowers.

My Boyfriend's Back - flowers and a sweetness that is TDF. Not sugary or foody. Just YUM!

Kiss of the Vampre - Bourbon Vanilla and sultry flowers - oh yeah baby! Sultry as. Very sensuous.

Calla Lily - green floral, but no aldehyde. Lovely

Flower Bomb - flowers and patchouli. Dead ringer to a sample of the original.

Lolita - another spot on dupe.

A Mermaid's Wish - Airy, sunshiney floral. A 'happy' scent, perfect for the warmer months

Velvet Vixen - Amber, vanilla and ? Foody but not like a cake - I do NOT want to smell like something people eat.

Pink Satin V-String - Can't describe this, makes my mouth water. But again, not a 'foody' scent.

Lime Coconut Verbena - Fresh, with a hint of something I can't place. Light, refreshing and lovely.

Tahitian Petals - tropical green and flowers - think Monoi.

Kulu bay - more tropics, but these are more Antipodean, and have hints of cranberry.

Santa's Pipe - pipe tobacco, honey and an old fashioned garden flower of some sort.

No idea. Your best bet is to contact Nancy, she will be able to make suggestions. She is a cheesecake fan, so will know what one smells like.

I must say, their gourmands are just like the real deal - you think of egg nogg (f'rinstance) get that fragrance and it smells like egg nogg.

She is also a genius at taking woefully described scent ideas and turning them into the right thing. I have 2 custom combos, the first is Vannila/Anise, my description went something like' Anise, with vanilla twining around it, but not overpowering, not foody, and not oversweet' She got it in 1. Same the my Green Tea & Key Lime - I gave a wandering description of the impression I was after, and she hit it squarely.

Well, I've finally done it! I made an MMS order! I got:

Sweet Fluff Body Butter- Lemon Meringue Pie
Whipped Bath and Shaving Butter- London Lemon Curd

I can't wait to get them!!

4 weeks or so to get the order processed and out, but there have been issues (HUGE ones) with Canada Post of late. If you are worried, maybe drop them a line. It takes about 3 weeks post-ship to get here.

Okay... I got the sweet fluff body butter in lemon merigue pie (strong) and I absolutely LOVE the texture of the cream. It's how it sounds, all fluffy and lovely, like lightly whipped cream, but it absorbs nicely. The smell is amazing, just what I wanted a nice tart lemony smell, but still with sweetness.
I also got the shaving butter in Lonodn lemon curd, and that smell amazing too, but more like a lemonade ice block. I haven't tried it yet, so I'll let you know how that goes tomorrow.
I got a hand cream sample in Enchanted and that smells heavenly, kind of marshmallow-y I guess.

Frosted Snowdrop, as above; and
Best Friend, it sounds delicious! Love the combo of honeysuckle, grapefruit and vanilla.

Tahitian Petals comes a close fourth, I'm tempted to get that meself.

As I said elsewhere, there is quite a wait - a 3 to 4 week turnaround for the products to be handmade (it's a 1 woman show and products are made up by hand as each order is processed) and then about 3 weeks to get here.

The upside is, it's like Christmas when it arrives. Downside, the wait once it ships is hellacious.

Once I know who is in, we will discuss shipping. I normally get normal air (untracked & uninsured) and have never had a problem yet, but as we are all in together, it might be best to get the one with insurance - costs more (Ouch!) but it's tracked by Canada Post. And if we split it, it won't be so bad.

Anyone who can't do it this time, I will be ordering again July/August (helloooooo tax cheque!).
