Thought I would start a thread for L'Occitane reviews. I will start by listing my recent L'Occitane purchases and as others I have tried come to mind I will add them in.

Almond Apple Cleansing Oil - All of those who love Dermalogica's Precleanse are going to love this. It is less expensive and you get more product. It smells amazing and gets every last trace of makeup off. You don't even have to use another cleanser after if you don't want to. I do though just because I am a cleansing nazi!

Almond Apple Toning Cider - Someone suggested this was alcohol based but on the ingredients label it doesn't list alcohol (unless it's also called some foreign name that I can't read). I am loving this. Combined with the Almond Apple Cleansing Oil this refines and softens skin amazingly well. My skin feels as soft as a babies bottom after using this.

Almond Apple Velvet Cream - Love this moisturiser. Ok I was in love with it before I had even used it because of it's texture and gorgeous smell. However once test driven this moisturiser more than justified it's own purchase. I can use it all over my combination skin, even on my slightly oily t-zone. My skin feels like velvet and ever so soft and well hydrated.

Almond Apple Sweet Peel - I used this for the first time last night. First impression was that it was going to be too gentle for my liking as I really like to feel a good scrub buffing away. However I was quite surprised when I massaged it in how good it was. I was still thinking there's no way this is going to scrub enough for me but when I took it off My skin felt AMAZING! It's gentle but super effective. It really is just an exfoliant, the name gave me the impression it would peel off or something but you just use it as you would any other exfoliant.

Honey Cleansing Jelly - If you like the smell of Honey you will love this. It's a bit strange to use as it doesn't foam and it seems to disappear into your skin as you massage. I kept adding more product thinking it had fell off. Once I got over the different texture my skin felt clean and soft and I could still smell the honey!

Honey Comfort Cleansing Fluid - Stupid me thought this was a cleanser so poured a bit into my hands and found it was more like a toner. You can use it as a cleanser but I don't think it would be at all effective in taking off makeup and daily grime (much like the Clarins waterless cleansers). It can also be used as a toner and they recommend you don't wipe it off but just let the skin absorb it. My skin was super soft and felt very well hydrated after using it.

Shea Butter - This is supposed to be used as an ultra-rich moisturiser. You rub a little between your fingers until it melt a little and then massage it in. I thought it would be far too rich for my fine skin so I'm using it as a lip balm. This would be excellent for anyone with very dry skin.

Honey Comfort Water - This is a little botlle of sans alcohol (alcohol free) honey scented water. This can be sprayed all over the body and leaves a light honey scent. I got this product purely for the cuteness factor in it's appearance. I hardly use it because it clashes with my perfumes a bit but if you love the smell of honey and perfume gives you a headache this might be just your thing.

Thanks for the great reviews PCC :hugs:. I look forward to trying some of these products, especially from the Almond Apple range (that cleansing oil sound devine! :penguin:), but I will have to wait to buy these 'til I come back from my France/Italy venture... I am trying so hard to be good, so I can actually have some spending money :redcheeks:

Glad this is suiting you PCC. The alcohol is actually mentioned on a couple of listings including Adore's.

I'll have to double check those ingredients listings for the toner - we were given the ingredients lists by L'Occitane but perhaps they are not correct.

Not just restricted to your listing Kate. Might be the apple cider vinegar? The instructions are usually a give-away too in that they say to avoid the eye area.

My reviews so far:

Shea Body Lotion
Rich, thick and creamy; leaves a dewy finish on the skin. Nice clean soapy smell. Very good for dry skin.

Honey Cleansing Jelly
This face cleanser is a runny gel that foams only slightly, and smells like a floral honey. It's very mild, and not drying at all - I think it would be a good option for anyone with dry-ish skin who prefers a gel cleanser. It's quite fragranced, I love the smell.

Eau de la Recolte EDT
This is the EDT in the Lavender Harvest range; I was expecting it to be more powerfully lavender-based but it's actually a very light and fresh floral. You can smell the lavender in it but it's subtle. A good spring/summer daytime fragrance. Lasting power is not great but then it's a big bottle for $65 so you can afford to apply it generously.

Almond body range
Massive big fat rave. I am absolutely besotted with the three products I have tried so far from this range (Shower Oil, Delicious Paste and Firming Milk Concentrate). I am so in love with them that I keep wanting to have extra showers so I can use them again. The textures are extremely elegant and lush, they smell fantastic (like fresh almond biscotti), and my skin feels extremely smooth. The Shower Oil is an oil that turns into foaming milk when it mixes with water in the shower, it is extremely moisturising. Delicious Paste is a thick shea-butter and sugar scrub that is incredibly creamy on the skin, and then rinses away cleanly (I hate it when scrubs leave that oily/sticky residue behind) - I use it on dry skin before hopping in the shower. Firming Milk Concentrate has the texture of whipped cream and just melts into the skin. I've only been using it three days so can't speak to its firming properties but I lurrrrrve the feel of it on my skin!

Thanks for your reviews Kate, but damn, now my wish list is growing somewhat extensively, and I'm so tempted to make a big purchase... must be strong, just think shopping in Paris and Milan, shopping in Paris and Milan...

Interesting I have just had a look at my bottle of toning Cider again and there is no mention of the world alcohol on it whatsoever! Is it possible that alcohol is called something else on this ingredient list? I'm confused! I will list the ingredients again exactly as they appear on my bottle. This type of thing bugs me when I don't understand, someone pleeeease help me understand!

L'Occitane Almond Apple Tony Cider Ingredient List (as appears on PCC's Bottle)

Aqua/water, PEG - 7 Glyceryl Cocoate**, Sodium PCA**, Peg-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides**, Peg-40 Hydrogenated CastorOil**, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract**, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Protein**, Potassium Sorbate, glycerin**, Parfum/fragrance, vinegar**, Limonene**, Linalool**

** - Natural Origin Ingredients

Ummm could the alcohol be hidden in the fragrance they have added? Can someone plesase sort this out as It's really bugging me! Where's the alcohol hiding?

Since when has having too may stopped you before Miss Fendi? I bet you will end up getting them, unless you have turned over a new more sensible and disciplined leaf!:chuckle::chuckle:

I AM being more disciplined PCC! Find that although I like the sound (and feel) of a cleansing oil that I may be unlikely to use it! Lancome and Dermalogica ones almost full!

my nana, who is well into her 80's with super fragile skin and hair is now big fan of the Honey range - the first product i got her was the honey foaming jelly for body and hair - which i think has become her favourite product because she is always commenting on how gently it is on her skin and how soft it makes her hair.

of course being a nana, she wanted to save it for 'special occassions' so now i give her lots of products from the range every birthday and x'mas so she will use them every day :clapping:

Have been loving the Immortal hand cream. I have it on my desk at work. Moisturises really well without being greasy and it smells amazing. Have yet to use the Hand mask - must get on to that! (Thanks Kate! xo)

Yes I have a huge tube of this next to my bed and I apply it 2-3 times a day. Love it and loooove the smell. During the day I generally switch between Mecca Hand-ellujah and Crabtree and Evelyn hand therapy.
