Well I was going through my wardrobe on the weekend and I was so shocked :shockedhair: at how many different sizes I am!

It's not that I didn't realise before that I'm a different size in different labels, but when I actually LOOKED at what I have in my wardrobe it's amazing - no wonder we have body issues when designers can't get the sizing right.

I had the following 'labels'

2
3
4
5
10
11
12
14
31
32
33
M
L
XL

I mean what's a girl to do!?

How many sizes do you have???

Yeah I would say I am pretty much the same, Nattieb!!

No wonder women love shoes - they are so EASY.

S

Its confusing when different stores stock different sizes... you might be 10 in one but 14 in another.... its depressing! :shakehead:

I'm less concerned by the range of numbers (I have 10, 12, 14, S, M, L, XL) but when XLs don't fit me. THAT unnerves me. I am a size 14! WHY do XLs in some ranges not fit me?! And I see girls bigger than me squeezing into smaller sizes, and I HONESTLY wonder how they fit the clothes when they do not fit me?!!

size 14's and 16's dominate my wardrobe (L or XL). Size 7 or 8 for shoes always frustrating! ... I do have size 15 jeans -strange but true they're from jeanswest.

for example: Jacqui e clothing I'm quite often a size 14 for skirts but at a place like sussan for pants I'm a size 16.

Most of my clothes are 16's. However I buy most of my clothes from Myer or David Jones in the larger section and there are some great botiques in Hobart that stock my size. I don't even bother with the popular chain stores anymore as I always leave them feeling dreadful when nothing will fit me.

When I travel I pick up lots of lovely clothes from a variety of different places. However nothing comes cheap for me. If I want it to fit properly and be of good quality each garmet costs me anywhere between $100 to $300 and sometimes more.

I sometimes get things custom made by designers which I usually have to send away for and by the time it arrives the season is over so I have to put it away until next year. I also have a couple of realy good friends in the fashion industry who help me out quite a lot. I have stayed pretty much the same size for the past four years since becoming critically ill. My weight varies 3 or 4 kilos at any given time.

Before I got sick I was a size 10. It really freaked me out initially and I just couldn't accept myself and what I had become. However after realising how extremely lucky I am to even be here and realising that there are so many people out there worse off than me I have learned to live with it and get on with it the best I can.

I use to be a size 10 in everything, then with no weight change i wear between a 6 or 8..go figure..

Very true PCC :hugs:

Not having standardised sizing is pretty annoying, especially if you want to order stuff online. But body shapes vary so much as well, so something that's a 14 on the bottom might be a 10 on top. Bah.

Looks like we all have LOTS of numbers then! It's ridiculous... the designers need to pull together and get more standard sizings sorted out. Although I guess for some that would be bad, because you might be a smaller size in their label but if it got changed to a standard based on measurements, clients might go up sizes and not be happy.

We can't win!!!
