Hi :waving:
I know that here in Tassie you can get the coloured powder used, and no tips. I imagine if we can do that here in the bum end of the world, the civilised parts of the nation can - or is this strictly a bum-end thing? No help otherwise sorry.

Hi Russbird!! :waving: Welcome!!
What you want to ask for is an Acrylic Overlay (which is not tip) some places wont do it if your naturl nails are too short) There are a bunch of little asian nail bars around that usually do these. Coloured powder not so much. I would hit the yellow pages and do a ring-around.
When you say coloured you mean like purple blue and yellow?? or the natural pink colour?? The natural pink is available in 99% of places the actual colours might e harder to find.
I dont live in Syndye so couldnt help you on that front sorry but the yellow pages website will help you find something in your local area!! :glee:
Good luck!! :waving:

yes, I mean exactly the actual colours. Blue, gold, sivler, black, red, orange... ect.
I've been to a few salons in my local area and am very surprised nobody does it.
thanks for ya advice, actually yes, yellow pages can help in finding the place where they can do that,
but i would like to be recommended because I've already had a very bad experience ((

There are a heap of those Professionail places around Sydney, mainly in the suburbs, but Im assuming that most city nail places will have coloured powder. Maybe even try the David Jones Beauty Hall Nail Spa ??? I know they do, do acrylics, but not sure if they have coloured powder.
Sorry I couldnt be any more help :)

Overlays are when the nail is not extended and the acrylic powder is placed onto the nail bed. Sculptured acrylic nails are when the nail tip is extended but without a plastic tip (scuplture stickers are used to place the acrylic onto and the tip is created manually with acrylic and the brush).
Hope that helps so you know what to ask for...
I used to do both tips and sculptured acrylics with white tip powder if you want that effect but these days you can probably get any colour under the sun!

Sculptured coloured acrylic nails is exactly what I want!
Thank you very much!
I just did not know how it is called in English.
I supposed to get them here easily but was shocked when found out they did not do them in several places.
With your information now I know for sure that it's possible.
And now I gonna wait for some certain recommendations.

alot of people won't do sculptured nails anymore because of the time factor & those cheapy asian places have put alot of old school stuff out as they r so cheap & quick , not sure if they do them either
good luck in your search :waving:

Yes, I understood that. All those places where I've been to are asian ones. It is cheap and quick but the quality is awful!!! it took for me 2 hours to make the shape of my nails looks more or less acceptable (I mean I had to fix my nais by myself after what she did)
But all those salons are empty!! I can't understand how they are still alive.
