I know you shoulnd't wear brown and black together but i thought this might be different because the boots are suede.

Help me coz i'm running out of options for winter and need to make do with what i have.

What's this never wear black & brown together bizzo?! :shakehead:

I think what you are describing would look fab, so long as the boots ARE chocolate. Lighter shades would look very, very wrong.

YES! Brown and black together looks very chic. Just make sure you add more brown and black stuff (like maybe a brown top with a chunky black bangle or something) so it doesn't look accidental and sloppy, but deliberate and fabulous.

Princess P, the rule that black and brown should not be worn together is a very silly one! Brown boots with a black dress or skirt look gorgeous - and less standard or boring than black with black. One of my favourite outfits is chocolate brown boots with a black pencil skirt and a woven chocolate brown belt. Divine!

yay coz i was a little worried because i have a couple of friends who have these rules and they pull me up all the time about having a brown bag with black shoes and visa versa.
Yay i'm gonna wear it tomorrow because i wanna look hot all week coz i have the boy i like who happens to be my builder coming to fix my stairs etc and i don't know when they are coming.

This will be my outfit:
Brown suede knee high boots
Black pencil skirt
Dark charcoal knit jumper with turtle next
Brown woven belt
Brown bag
Blowdryed side fringe
Straightened hair
Brown smokey eyes
Pink glossy lips
Dewy pink blush
SMall pearl stud earrings

Yayyayayya bring it on.

Absolutely! As if those colors don't work together. I say wear red stockings for even more contrast.

Wow wouldn't red stockings really throw a splash of colour in there.

I think it would add a lovely contrast. But still strong and warm. I think it would work great with the browns and balcks.

I agree Sapphire, you do need another brown element to tie it in.

Thanks Luisa B. I also find that something like a burnished/old gold or bronze chain necklace also pulls brown boots and black skirt together - the warmer, darker gold picks up the brown in the boots and balances it by adding some brown tones to the top half of the body.
