Hi Allison, I posted this in the skin care section, but just realised I should have posted here and asked you.. A couple of weeks ago I changed my skin care products to clinique.. I liked the initial effects. My skin was reacting really well.. but in the last few days I have started breaking out near my temples and the sides of my face.. I am someone who never has pimples, except for the odd blackhead.

Do you think the clinique could possibly not be for me? or are the impurities all coming out??? Should I give it more time? what do you think..

Hi Blondie,

I have not worked with clinique and have heard very mixed reviews so I don't want to make any bold statements here with no grounding in the brand.

Perhaps you can tell me what your routine involves in the way of cleansers and mosturisers etc and I can make a couple of suggestions to add in that will keep your skin clear.

Clinique is not a cosmeceutical brand so I doubt you are using any high strenght vitamins or glycolic. Maybe we can look at complimenting your current routine with something a little more hard working to keep your skin clear and supple.

does this sound ok?

Hi Allison, thanks for replynig to my post... Well, the day b4 yesterday I went back to myer and returned my products... The same thing was happening to my daughter.. (I bought her the blemish pack)... I had the three step.. I cleanse, clarify and then moisturise. My skin is neither oily nor dry.. BUT it can be sensitive to products. I cannot use supermarket brand cleansers.

I need to try and find something that comes in a sample/tester pack, as I dont want to go out and spend all that money again, only to find that my skin will have a reaction.

Ok, so I am thinking that the sample pack in the Alpha H range- the Classique pack may work really well for you. You can try out the product and see how you go:

http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=2315

This pack contains the basic products to begin a new program. The pack focuses on age prevention and hydration (but also has the glycolic in the moisturiser and liquid gold to help keep your skin exfoliated and clear).

you would use the products as follows:

Cleanse morning and evening with the balancing cleanser (in the kit)

Then apply the liquid gold all over the face and decolotage on a cotton circle pad (do not include this step in the morning- only for the evening- every second night)

Apply the hydra defense to areas of dryness (not to areas of break out) and decolotage and neck. On top apply the rejuvenating cream.

The final step to all of this during the day time would be to ensure your skin is protected with a broad spectrum sunscreen and of course eye cream morning and night time.

Have a look and see what you think of the pack! The main products in the kit are all generous sizes too.

xx

Hi Allison, As i needed something fairly soon and hadnt received a response yet from you, I went out and bought neutrogena... After I had already purchased them, I got your reply for the Alpha H range... I still would like to try it though.. (dont mis-understand, i dont expect you to sit on the forum all day... lol.. I just needed something quickly as I didnt have anything else to use)...

However, seeing I already had the neutrogena, I thought I would use it first... It has helped a lot.. The acne has been clearing.. I still have a few spots, but nothing like they were while I was using the clinique... But like I said, I really like the sound of the alpha H and have heard some good reviews from the girls here... So as soon as my neutrogena gets low, I will put an order in for the alpha...

Thanks alot for your concern I really appreciate it.!! :hugs:

I believe it fusspot!!! I was shocked at how horribly my face reacted. A lady from another counter told me that they had been getting a lot of returns and complaints lately... Now whether that is just a point of view from a competitor, I dont know... but I can only go by what it did to me..
