What is the best eye cream/s that you have every used?
These days the market is flooded with eye creams promising to perform miracles for those who buy them. I must admit I am a sucker for eye creams. I have been talked into buying sooo many different ones only to be disappointed with the results.
I do not yet have any wrinkles or fine lines but I do suffer from the odd bout of puffy eye syndrome as well as occasional dark circles. Is there one miracle cream that really works that offers anti-aging benefits, puff control, hydration, dark circle elimination and sunscreen all in one?
If this magic wonder cream exists I am yet to find it. If I had to address all these issues I would be putting ten different creams on top of each other  lol!
For me the best thing for my puffy eyes is a sink full of cold water and a tray of ice cubes. I just dunk a face washer in for a few seconds and then make a cold compress which I apply to my eyes. It works everytime and doesn't cost a thing! To finish I just slap on some of the so called 'wonder' eye creams containing sunscreen.
I would love to know what works for you!

OMG! The ice thing is a bit extreme but I bet it works!
I could have written the exact thread starter pinkcupcake! :ashamed:
Even though I am approaching 40 I have yet to start getting lines so my issues are finding a firming eye cream! I do suffer from puffiness and dark circles but am happy to use a separate product.
Kate mentioned her eye cream in another thread. What was it Kate?
I will post my experiences with eyecreams soon, but for now I say bring on the holy grail of eye products!

I think my eyes are a little bit sensitive as they tend to run after I apply eye cream. Does anyone else find this? It even seems to happen with the hypoalergenic ones!

It is surprising what can irritate. I am not normally sensitive but cannot put Dermalogica Total Care eye cream near my eyes! Ouch! :flames:

My favourite Eye Creams are:
The Eye Balm By La Mer - It's expensive but one of the nicest I have tried. It is super Hydrating and plumps up the skin around the eyes. This is one of the only ones that doesn't make my eyes run.
Multi-Vitamin Power Firm By Dermalogica - This is one costs around $70 but really nourishes and firms up the delicate skin around the eyes. This smells lovely to, like oranges. I think I have re-purchased this one at least four times.
Hydra Zen By Lancome - This comes in a gel type formula and I find it really hydrating. This is like a big drink of water for your delicate eye area.
Ooh La Lift By Benefit - This comes in lip gloss type packaging with a wand. Just pat it gently anywhere you are a bit puffy and those bags will shrink. I can't remember all the ingredients but I know it has raspberry extract in it.
Vitamin C Eye Reviver By The Body Shop - I have only been using this for about a week and I am loving it. I would rate it right up there with the best of all eye creams I have tried. It only costs about $25 and it is easily absorbed and just really comforting on my eyes.
The Sisters Ford Depuffing Action Eye Gel By Benefit - This is great for puffiness. It comes in a tube and feels really cold when you put it on. Results are instantaneous!
Cellular Smart Eye Cream By La Prairie - This is a little heavy for day wear for my liking but I love to use it at night. It is really hydrating and when I get up the next morning my eyes never look puffy or have dark circles!
Enchanted Eye Cream By Lush - This contains organic essential oils such as lavender and contains honey. This one is made of fresh ingredients (as are most Lush Products) and only has a shelf life of 12 Months. It comes in a handy pump and is super firming. It really tightens up the skin under the eyes.

Hey, thanks for that!
Too buggered to go and search my many drawers and cupboards for eye creams, promise I will do soon!
I have another Adore window open and have just ordered the one I remembered Kate used, the Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge Eye Balm, sounds like a good one.
I am intrigued by your Benefit depuffing one, must give that a go if you noticed my extra info on my member profile! I have wanted to try the Cellular Eye Cream from LaPrairie. They have a few Cellular ones in their range so will check out yours and get some info on the others. Impressed that you liked the Vitamin C one from Body Shop, must really get into a store soon.
I suppose what I really must do is actually finish an eye cream one of these days! :ashamed:

The best eye cream I have ever used is Estee Lauder Idealist Skin Refinisher Eye cream (or something like that, I just finished it up and don't have the bottle to reference off!)
It made the eye area so amazingly soft and firm, got rid of my slight dark circles and felt like satin. I love the way it smells and the little container it comes in, it's my favourite product from Estee Lauder counters.
For puffiness I can't go past The body shop's elderflower eye gel, or just one of those eye gel masks that you wear on a plane :)

Chanel Ultra Eye Correction
Chanel Rectifiance Eye
Guerlain Issima Eye Tech
MD Formulations Vit-A-Plus Eye

Clinique RepairWear
Elizabeth Grant Eyelid Restore
The Body Shop Elderflower Eye Gel
In that order.... I have a few others, but cant think of them right now and too tired to go to the bathroom to check! :)
Next I wanna get the Mirenesse Super Star Eye Serum....

OMG!! PinkCupcake I can't believe you have so many eye creams! I only have 2 and they work a treat.
For day I love Trilogy's Rosehip oil, this stuff is fab. I was recommended it after the birth of my 1st babe as my skin was horribly hormonal and of course I had the dark circles from lack of sleep. Well the Rosehip Oil transformed my skin in just a couple of weeks! It rehydrated my skin so well that I even lost a few wrinkles!! It is also great as a facial serum or a remedy for burns, rashes, fading scars. Its also very affordable.
At night I wear something a little richer, Beauty & the Bees Rosehip-C Ultra rich eye care oil. Same as above but blended with other rich oils - Wheatgerm, Macadamia, hazelnut, Jojoba, Carrot, Rice Bran, Seseme and Almond oil. I also use this as a facial serum if my skin needs a big drink.

Freeze 24/7 Eye Serum:
Well, at first I didnt think I noticed any difference (only been using for 3 weeks), but the effect is cumulative - and now I cant live without it! :D
I use it morning and night - you only need a little bit, not a full pumps worth. I pat it all over my eyelid and under my eyes - leave for about 5 mins, then apply regular eyecream over the top.
I dont really have wrinkles around my eyes yet (I'm 36 and have always used eye creams and avoided the sun), but when I smile I do get smile lines, but they arent permanent - YET! But it really does smooth out the skin and and smile lines are definitely reduced. It has a nice cooling effect and helps the morning after not much sleep...
Maybe Kate could negotiate with Freeze 24/7 :fish: and get the same deal that the shopping channel have at the moment... A pack of 24/7 half size versions for $199. I havent purchased it but I am tempted.... :p

Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge Eye Cream is my all-time favourite - I am very lazy with eye cream but I always remember to use this one because I notice the difference (dark circles, puffiness, dehydration lines etc) when I stop using it!! I've gone through two pots of it already and am onto my third.

Oh yeah, I thought I had a lot of eye creams, but Pinkcupcake beats me hands down!
But add to my list:
Lancome Resurface Eye
Olay Eye Lift Serum (i think thats the correct name)
Nivea Q10 Eye Cream - this is good under another eye cream - every cell in our body needs Q10 for correct metabolism - so a Q10 vitamin supplement is a good hint for most people too! :D

I've yet to find a HG eye cream, although the ones I'm using now I'm pretty happy with...
I'm on my second jar of Kiehl's Abysine Eye Cream (morining) & am trying Ren Active 7 Eye Maintenance Serum (night)... Even though I'm pretty happy with the Kiehl's as it's fabulous under a concealer, as a makeup base, I wouldn't call it a miracle cream...
I've also tried so many different eye creams.. many half finished... :o including:
- Origins A Perfect World Eye Cream
- Precision Age Delay Eye Cream - Chanel
- Nivea Q10 Eye Cream
- Anatomicals No Bags Allowed
- YSL Lisse Expert Advanced Eye & Lip Antiwrinkle Care
Am still searching for my HG... :D

I looove using eye cream - I tend to get a little dry under my eyes sometimes. At the moment I am using Elizabeth Arden 24-Hour something-something-something. It's pretty good. Before that I was using Clinique Moisture Surge Eye Gel. I like gels or creams which feel cool when they go on and really sink into the skin. I don't have any wrinkles but do have dark circles under my eyes (even after 8 or 9 hours of sleep!) I use the Yves Saint Laurent Radiant Touch thingy most days which does a pretty good job of covering them - it's a great tool - but I would love to be rid of them!
Does anyone know of a great product that actually reduces or removes dark circles?

Sarah, I have tried MANY eye creams, but for texture and long term hydration I am really liking Kate's DermaDoctor Wrinkle revenge. Remember the skin under and around your eyes have few oil or sweat glands and while you dont want to cause what looks like whiteheads around your eyes, they still need moisture!

Firstly stop using your regular facial moisturiser so close to your eyes. The texture of the skin around your eyes cant cope with a facial formulation as milia (or whiteheads) can occur.Removing them is trickier! If they are not too close to your undereye, you could try a gently scrub (I have been known to use my Liquid Gold right up to the undereye area). Unfortunately you may have to have them lanced by a beauty therapist. Prevention is the key!:waving:

Sarah,
Are they actually wrinkles or are they fine dehydration lines? I am 28 and although I don't have any wrinkles yet I do occasionally get very fine lines under my eyes. These are caused by the skin under my eyes being very dehydrated. It usually occurs when I have been slack putting on eye cream.
Most of the time I use an eye cream but I also have Lancome Hydra Zen and Clinique Moisture Surge Eye Gel. These are just like a big glass of water for your delicate eye area. You can even put them on over or under another eye cream. I find that my dehydration lines disappear after using these.

And on Kate's recommendations, have ordered the Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge Eye Cream. Should get it any day now. Can't wait to try it :D
Speaking of those whiteheads/milia... I have them near my eyes, & now that I think about it, may have been caused by the use of too rich eye creams in the past... I hate having them there, but looks like I can't do anything about getting rid of them...

The last few nights I have been using my Benefit eyecon eye cream. When I got up this morning I looked in the mirror and thought 'gee I look different' and couldn't work out why. After coming to from my half asleep haze I realised my eyes were not puffy at all nor were they surrounded by any dark circles. So today I am saying two thumbs up for Benefit eyecon!

Hey what's the deal with the Clarins Beauty Flash Eye Balm? Is it an eye cream? I'm confused. A couple of SAs told me it is to be used as a pick me up for special nights out (must be an advertising blurb) but what the hell does that mean?
Also if I am using Rosehip oil on my eyes is that enough? Do I need other active ingrediants? Should I put a cream over the top? I do have some fine lines (sun damage & genetics).
pinkcupcake
19-12-2006, 10:56 PM
I think the Clarins Eye Revive Beauty Flash balm is just to perk the eyes up if they are a bit dark. It contains light reflecting pigments to brighten up the eye area. I don't think it is a treatment as such, more a cosmetic type thing. Do correct me if I am wrong.
I would say that you may need something a little more active around the eye area if you want to treat fine lines, dehydration or wrinkles.
Luisa knows a lot more about active ingredients than me so I would suggest asking her thoughts on an appropriate cream for you. She is a genius when it comes to these matters. A few forum members are using the Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge eye cream at the moment. I am thinking about buying it. It costs around $150 so not sure if you would want to outlay that sort of money.
Hope that helps in some small way!

Hi girls!
I DO love my eyecreams! The Beauty Flash Eye Balm is a cosmetic product "refreshes, tightens, brightens" but like the face version, does soothe the eye area too. I tend to use this most mornings either on top of another de-puffing cream/gel or a more moisturising one like Dermadoctor.
Choice and needs vary and I would definitely send a message to Allison who can give you all individual advice on selecting the best one for you. Your needs may include de-puffing, brightening, moisturising, anti-ageing, dehydration, firming or just as a preventer. Go easy on application in the evening as too much can make your eyes puffy the next morning and sometimes result in whiteheads around the eye area.
Apart from genetics, I do think my application of eye products over the years has allowed my to remain line-free - for the moment anyway!:p
PS The smaller Dermadoctor eye cream is under $70 for those considering it!

Ladies I have been madly reading all the posts regarding eyecare and must fessup to using just about every eye product ever floated on the market. I had become accepting of, at best, receiving reasonable results until recently. I discovered Alpha-H absolute eye complex & Alpha-H luminescent eye cream. Within a week I was noticing tighter, fresher, brighter eyes and best of all a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. I have been using these products now for 8 weeks and am blown away by the obvious overall improvement. Friends I haven't seen for a while thought I had surgical assistance, how funny!! The refreshing news is the price; $60 each.:clapping:

Hi there charismatic and welcome to the forum!
I also have the two Alpha H eyecreams but havent given them a proper go. As you may have gathered I chop and change my products all the time so you have prompted me to try and use those each day. Do they make your eyes watery at all? Cant work out if its the get or cream doing this to me!

26-12-2006, 01:10 PM
Hello Luisa Brown ......... I have also had a habit of chopping and changing with products so I know where your coming from. When applying gel/cream press into the bone surrounding the eye socket. As the skin in this area is fine and warm, the product works its way towards the eye also pat out to temples.
I suspect you are spreading your eye cream too close to the eye and that is causing your eyes to run.
In the morning I use the gel which clears dark circles and tightens the skin, followed by the cream. At night I only use the cream. Of the two products I feel it is the cream that is performing the best for my skin.
As you would no doubt know, skincare really is personal and what suits one does't work for another. Having said that, my friends that I have put onto Alpha-H are also raving.
Start using your bottle and let me know how you go I'm sure you will be happy!

Hi pinkcupcake,
I am tempted to try the Vitamin C Eye Reviver from Bodyshop eye cream you mention - as I have heard Vitamin C is the best stuff for attacking wrinkles (or in my case - before they start- dont have any yet... but want to do all possible to avoid getting them in the next few years - I am 30).
I currently use the Estee Lauder Eye cream Re-Nutriv Ultimate lifting eye cream and the Estee Lauder Uncircle Eye Treatment every night before bed.
My colleague is in her early 50's and uses the Cellex- C range and hardly has wrinkles - her skin is a-m-a-z-i-n-g but she also admits to using botox injections. This Vitamin C theory though......is sounding more and more truthful as I research it - what do you think when you compare to all the other good eye creams you use? Thanks!

KrissyK,
The vitamin C eye revive cream from The Body Shop is a really great little cream. I find it hydrates the delicate skin under the eyes really well and isn't too heavy. It is easily absorbed into the skin and when used at night my eyes are frsh and never puffy in the morning.
I use a lot of very expensive eye creams such as those by La Prairie and of course they do provide amazing results (but hey they'd want to considering what you pay for them)! The Body Shop Vitamin C isn't fancy but I consider it to be very good value for money and it does make the eyes feel good. I think it's certainly better than some other eye creams I have tried that cost up to three times as much. At only $24.95 you really have nothing to lose!

KrissyK,
The vitamin C eye revive cream from The Body Shop is a really great little cream. I find it hydrates the delicate skin under the eyes really well and isn't too heavy. It is easily absorbed into the skin and when used at night my eyes are frsh and never puffy in the morning.

I can see how many you have tried and if you say it's good, I will have to get it - boy you have alot and so I take your recommendation for sure!! When I run out of my Estee Lauder one currently using now I will get it and I'll let you know what I think.
By the way, I got the Vitamin C facial spritz/toner from The Body Shop the other day and love it!

Aaahhhh! That elusive search for the perfect eye cream. Found the texture lovely as the skin around my eyes is a little dehydrated. Didnt sting which was great (others have made my eyes water) but as I had no lines to treat not sure how it went. I would consider trying the 15ml size, it does last for ages and I liked the run down on it.
I have my Givenchy No Surgetics unopened (as well as several others opened!) but my dream is to try the La Prairie Cellular eye cream, that would be heavenly and hopefully worth it!
One that I would never use again is the Dermalogica Total Eye Care, so did not suit and made my eyes stream! I shouldve taken it back!

Hylexin is all the rage in the States, it is produced by the people who brought us Strivectin. Apparantly Vitamin K has an effect on dark circles but not sure if this contains it.

I've been using Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge eye cream for about a month...
I quite like it. I'm similar to you Luisa... I've tried lots of eye creams, and many I've had an adverse reaction to as well... :flames:
I've only really got fine lines just under the eyes, which become more prominent when I'm tired... but really you can't see them...& I have no crows feet...
I'll keep using the Dermadoctor as a preventative measure... I do like the texture too, as it's quite hydrating and sinks into the skin really well... I've got the smaller size jar, which will last me ages! :fish:

Thanks!

In my opinion, you should. Just make sure you allow it to absorb before applying makeup. I like to use an eye cream as soon as I am out of the shower and then apply Clarins Beauty Flash Eye Revive Balm before I put my makeup on. You could use an eye gel (for puffiness) at this stage too.

I'm tossing up between the MD Formulations Vita A Plus or Ultraceuticals ACE eye & lip cream. Has anyone tried these?
Medusa, I have not tried either of these but I did go into the site and had a look at each of them.
The MD one contains 10% glycolic acid and 2% Vit A, impressive proportion of active ingredients! Designed to improve the texture around the eyes. The ingredient list also mentions hyaluronic acid, aloe and vitamin E, though I dont know in what %. Also contains glycerin which helps to attract moisture to the skin.Personally I am not a fan of pump packs, always feel like I cant quite get to the end, but they do help preserve the potency of the ingredients.
The Ultraceuticals is a great one too. Contains lactic instead of glycolic, vitamin E, hyaluronic acid (a super-moisturiser), Green Tea, Vit E, Vit C and 1% Vit A. It does contain caffeine so good for puffy eyes. Also says it is for sensitive eyes.
There is a fair difference in price $140 for 15ml MD and $75 for 20ml Ultraceuticals.
Personally, if dryness and skin texture is an issue, although they will both help, I would choose the MD. If you want an all round eye cream that is effective for puffiness and lines go for the Ultraceuticals.
Hope I havent confused you. Perhaps Allison can comment on this one too?

I have been looking into the U/C eye cream also, I went and spoke to someone at the U/C counter about it, and she said basically what you just said Luisa (said they didn't do eye creams in samples though  ) and it sounds like it will be a really effective product for my fine dehydration lines. However, what is really pushing me to buy it now is the mentioned GWP for Feb, where you get a free Ultra A cream with the purchase of two products; this will be one of them!

Sorry to change the subject girls but I just wanted to say that the La Mer Eye Balm is phenomenal. Ok I know it is expensive and not within some peoples budget but it is so good that it is worth saving up for. I have had it for ages but never really used it much but since I got sick I have been treating my eyes with it (as they had big dark circles and dehydration lines) and they have improved so much. It really is a quality product and a little goes a long way!

I'm leaning toward the MD one too but $140 is more than I have ever spent on a beauty product. So you have zero chance of converting me to La Mer! If I was going to splurge on anything it would have to be the eye cream wouldn't it? I guess if I compare it to shoes then it really isn't much, considering I'd wear it everyday & it would (I hope!) be beneficial to me.
Allison recommended these to me & I like the glycolic & Vit A in the MD to hopefully reduce pigmentation around my eyes. I rarely get puffy but I do have some fine lines.

I forgot about the pigmentation under your eye! You should get some milage from the MD, so try to see the cost as a per use $. Also, I am very impressed with the content of the active ingredients, this is a professional salon line after all. Eye creams are definitely worth the spluge, particularly when you have things to address. Let me know how you go.

I have to admit that before moving to a much dryer and harsher climate I never thought about using an eye cream, but living where I am now has forced me to take action.
I've tried a few creams some have had no affect while others have been a godsend. I truly recommend the Kiehl's Abyssine Eye Cream - it's so light weight and easily absorbed into the delicate eye area so you only need a teeny weeny bit, it has improved my skin texture and gives my eye area a quick pick-me up. Oh and I also love my Rose Hip oil :)

Hi all,
I've used a few eye-creams over the years, I am obsessed. I suffer only from dehydration around my eyes and have tried lots of creasm, serums and gels to prevent wrinkles, lines and puffiness.
My holy-grail was phytomer lift contour eye cream. It's texture is like a mixture between a cream and a gel - which means that it deals with fine lines and puffiness to a degree (and dark circles). Only downside is no sunscreen...:shakehead:
A tip too - some people keep their eye cream in the fridge so it gives their eyes an extra boost in the morning in case of a little puffiness. I haven't as I'm too lazy (the fridge is just sooo far away....), but some swear by it.
Also most recently, I've been putting my emu oil cream around my eyes and have been really pleased - deals with the dehydration lines well and I dont need a separate routine!
Other Ive tried are:
La Prarie- can't remember but not the cellular smart. Did nothing, but smelt nice.
MD Formulation Vit A eye cream - dried out my eyes and made them crepey.
Cellcosmet - oft raved about, but alas - did nothing but smell delicious (however my partner adored it until I told him the price.):chuckle:

Hi Pincupcake,
Yes, I do believe that my emu oil contains emu parts - the oil. I love animals also (am a current subscriber to the RSPCA i.e donater and also the proud owner of two cats and a rabbit), I did visit the place that I buy it from and grilled the lady about their practices as I struggled with the idea also initially. they belive in it based on the aborigines use of it for many years for its medicinal benefits, and manufacture it in accordance with current animal farming and culling guidelines - they have acres of land that they roam etc.
In addition, emu oil has the closest lipid profile to that of human skin, therefore is very moisturising and deeply absorbed rather than just sitting on the skin, and I decided to use it for its benefits on my skin - right or wrong.
I actually find it much more natural and effecive than some other chemical products that I've used and thats why I continue to use it.

Nearly every model will tell you they have done this. I got the idea off Tyra Banks years ago. She did a stint on Oprah :chuckle: and told everyone to do it. I have been doing it for years and it really does work a treat. The real beauty of it adorettes is that ice is free so it is very cost effective.

Fusspot, I used a sample of the Dermadoctor one & while it was a lovely texture (very creamy) & didn't cause a reaction, its a bit hard to comment on a product where you see the benefits over a longer period of time than a mere sample. I belive that Kate & Luisa are fans of this one.
I can highly recommend the Ultraceuticals Ultra ACE eye treatment. Allison recommended it to me & I love it so much that I am getting some for my mum too. I also HAD dehydration lines & terrible smile lines & crows feet when I'd smile or squint. Well I can tell you that with all honesty that they have reduced dramatically in as little as 2 months :worship: . In fact when I squint now there are no crows feet at all! :clapping:

Hi guys!
Have not tried the UC one (yet!) but I can give you a rundown on the Dermadoctor one. I was attracted to this one because it was a multi purpose eye cream. It dealt with puffiness, dark circles, lines and firmness. It has a stack on ingredients in it and I find it incredibly soothing and long lasting.

While I have yet to see results in the dark circle dept I wouldnt hesitate recommending this one as a great preventative eye cream. Luckily I have no lines yet so cant comment on its ability to deal with those but HEAR THIS - this is the FIRST eye cream I will EVER finish! Very close to the bottom of the jar. Will condider repurchasing this down the track but have my new Givenchy No Surgetics eye cream to use next.

Hi pinkcupcake, I don't know about the condition you have, but my eyes can sting every now and then from eye creams- esp if I put it too close to my eye, I just tend to apply before bed and closing my eyes... I sometimes just apply rosehip oil under my eyes and also across my forehead and avoid the eye creams for a little while - I would definitely get it checked out though to make sure you are not reacting to an ingredient. Good Luck!!:) :) :)

PCC, definitely get it checked out particularly if the incidence is on the increase. I would hesitate to put it on just before closing your eyes as if it is an allergy you really want to avoid the irritants. For the moment use something that has never given you problems to be on the safe (and less watery eyes!) side.

I don't think there is any set rules on which order you put your eye cream on in. However I personally put facial serum on first, then moisturise and then put my eye cream on as the final step. Remember to keep all other products away from your delicate eye area other than your eye cream!

It depends whether the serum is designed for the eye area too. The ones containing hyaluronic acid are great around the eyes but you would never put say UC Even Skintone serum around areas or anywhere near them.
I would use serum first only if designed for eye area, then eye cream and then moisturiser. You want to provide that barrier by putting eye cream on first. This is because if you put moisturiser on first you will more than likely still have this on your fingers and by having eye cream on first, any moist, particularly ones with active ingredients dont upset the delicate skin around the eyes because they are already protected.
Going back to eye creams, I have had some trouble with my eyes lately (and again PCC! think it might be allergy related). The only thing I could trust around my eyes was the Dermadoctor eye wrinkle revenge cream. So soothing and does not upset my eyes. Great properties for this one too.

Reviving this thread after spending ages researching eye creams. I have a dilema - my fine lines are basically dehydration lines - I notice them more at the end of the day and also when Im tired or haven't had much sleep.
So, do what to purchase? I've looked at the Derma doctor which seems to get good reviews from you guys, but then, do I need this type of eye cream if they aren't necessarily wrinkles - or do I just go for a simple hydrating cream? And then which is a good one? I've tried so many, and some have been reallygood, some just OK. Hi there! If I didnt have four new eye creams to use (and a ton already opened!) I would buy the DermaDoctor one again in a heartbeat. SO soothing for my sensitive eyes and a little goes a long way. Has many actions which I love about an eye cream so it is designed to help with dryness, dehydration, firmness, circles, puffiness and acts on lines (I didnt have any either). Comes highly recommended and I have NEVER finished an eye cream in my life!
OK,sounds good to me. However, I guess I am just hoping that it wont d any damage!
The reason I say this is that there is some debate that using products for ageing skin can do more damage than good in skin not suitable for it.:shakehead::ashamed:

I do agree, particulary younger skins who are using products for ageing skin. Not that they are entirely harmful but pretty much a waste. You have little to "graduate" to as your skins' needs change. I have heard of 20 somethings using creams which are most suitable for menopausal women!
In regard to the Dermadoctors, it is a great all round eye cream which is perfect for you at this time.

Alright Alright, I've ordered it! I have spent a lot of $$$$ today but I felt I just had to try this. My eyes are so sensitive at the moment and nearly every eye cream I have tried makes my eyes run. Hoping this might be my saving grace, dehydration lines appearing quickly!! What a great price too.

I am using Antipodes Kiwi Seed Eye Cream at the moment and I am super impressed. It doesn't upset my sensitive eyes and is very reasonably priced at just $46 for 30ml. I am already seeing better results than I have with the Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge (eventhough I love this to). It's very hydrating and absorbes into the skin rapidly. My eyes are now more hydrated and less puffy than they have been before and it has also helped the dark circles I sometimes get diminish. Antipodes is avaialble at KIT.

Hi ladyver! What have you been using and have you found it effective?:waving:
i have been using Leaf & Rusher Tx eyes - and have found it very effective for dealing with those 'first signs of ageing' and dehydration lines! which is good because it is not cheap (though not as $ as la mer :chuckle:). i gave it a go after trying quite a few things which i did not seem to have any impact on my new fine lines
in another thread charismatic mentioned that she had a bad reaction to it - so i would definitely try a sample first because it might not be suitable if you have very sensitive eyes. i find it is fine if i just follow the bone and don't get too close to the eyes

I know HK Island better than I do the Kowloon side but as soon as you hit the Kowloon side there is the most amazing shopping centre Harbour City, absolutley ginormous with around 700 stores! The have a department store called Faces which only stocks beauty lines - most of which even I have never come across. Very slick store. My fave stores are Lane Crawford for Creme de la Mer (imagine a more exclusive DJ's!) and Joyce, which is a little like Kit and stocks the Eve Lom range.

i had to keep checking i wasn't walking around the shops drooling. in loved that (except for the shops right next to the big hotels) all the sales assistants were so polite and always thanked you for coming in the stores. plus they don't have all the nice things chained to the racks like they do here. & i bought my first designer jacket for almost a third of the cost it would be in Oz.
& i really liked how in some stores they had a really cool set up where they had sensors which would work out which rack you were standing near and would show footage on big screens of the clothes on the catwalk or suggestions of what to wear them with.... Ok.. will stop hijacking the eye cream thread now :redcheeks: clearly, i am in :hearts: with HK - i would consider moving there just to shop

I think you will start to see more and more eye creams being released with an SPF. Even prestige lines are getting in on this vital ingredient (just saw an ad for La Praire Smart Eye cream with SPF). Provided your SPF is designed for the face I dont see a problems with patting it around the eye area, perhaps try a patch test just to rule out a reaction.

time b4 last i had the magnetic clip ons , quite cute but the next pair i went with a fine black metal frame [these ones don't do additions] & unfortunatrly my prescription is too heavy for transitions [as i like them as thin as i can get them - the lenses] so they would be very thick [read: i will have bottle top lenses , not kidding] , but i will have to work out something sooner or later

Do you find that helps dark circles and puffiness, or more fine lines and dehydration?
Medusa
14-10-2007, 08:58 AM
I would say the latter. I noticed a great improvement in my dehydration lines within 2 months of using it. The lines around my eyes are my main concern as I rarely suffer with puffiness & dark circles. The tube lasts a long time too. I use it everyday & it is still going strong. I don't expect to open the new tube til at least the new year.

Yes, it was was an afterthought really. I went in to pick up my orders and ended up grabbing that and a deluxe pedicure voucher for sis. The small one lasted me for simply ages. Hoping it works just as well this time. I cant even apply foundation under my eyes at the moment as they are so dry and crepy. An after-effect of the cortisone but a necessary evil.

I am a fan of EVERYTHING being sold in smaller packaging!! When you accumulate a collection of anything, obviously it takes longer to get through your products and they go off easily. If only we had the option of much smaller packages, we could buy more and not have it go to waste!! I for one wish that they'd sell half-sized mascaras, because I usually have 2-3 mascaras on the go at once and they always dry up before I have come even close to finishing them. Ba-BOW!

The Natio eye gel is an excellent (and popular) product. I actually find it more pleasant than TBS Elderflower one.
I would hope that you change your mind about using eye products and get into the habit of using them twice a day.The skin around your eyes has so few oil or sweat glands so will be prone to dryness - then ageing.

It is just a matter of getting into the habit. Choose one in a tube as it is easier to use and less time consuming. Your regular moisturiser just wont cut it for the eye area and may even aggrevate the skin around it. Your skin will thank you for it in the future!

Ladies, I have never used an eye cream - I am 27 and normally just wear sunnies and rub IZ quite close to the eyes (but not too close!) in the mornings - my eyes can get very sensitive to some products. My skin is in good condition but very oily. The other day I looked at my freshly cleansed skin sans makeup in the natural light and noticed fine lines underneath the eye - they are like semi circles that follow the shape of the lower eye but are about half an inch under the eye - near the very top of the cheekbone. Would these be fine wrinkles or dehydration lines?

Sapphire! No eye cream?:chuckle:
The skin around your eyes has very few oil or sweat glands. It is not able to properly moisturise itself. Plus, facial expressions put strain on this delicate, thin skin. Regular moisturisers dont cut it as their formulations do not allow proper penetration into this very different skin and can sometimes contain ingredients that irritate the eye.
Never mind that your facial skin is oily, it usually does not translate to the skin around your eyes. At your age they are most probably dehydration lines but you really need to get into the habit of using an eye cream twice a day underneath the invisible zinc. I am amazed at the amount of women years younger than me who have wrinkling around the eyes that makes them look years older than their age.
If funds allow, I would check out the Derma Doctor eye wrinkle revenge balm. The texture is lovely and you only need a tiny amound gently rubbed between each ring finger then patted around the eye area. This one has many properties but is perfect for sensitive eyes.
Ladies, never let eye treatments be something you consider when you see the first signs of ageing. They can rarely make a significant difference to existing ageing and are better used as a preventative. As they say, prevention is better than cure!
Sorry for the lecture! This is coming from the woman who has (on occasion) cleaned her eye makeup off only when dog tired so she can apply her eye cream before going to bed. Yes my skin sometimes suffers but my eyes never will!

Luisa I am only 23 and I wear eye creams religiously but I STILL have wrinkly eyes and creases which extend almost to my temples when I smile broadly!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what to do!

They are expression lines Celeste and there is not much you can do for those cosmetically. Keep going with the eye creams as this is your best prevention tactic. What have you been using?

Sigh, I know it is true but they've only developed recently and I see them in photos sometimes and cringe. Who said being happy and smiling all the time makes you attractive? It gives you bloody wrinkles!
I change a bit - at the moment I am using Dr Haushka eye balm for day and was using rosehip oil at night but am now using the UC Vitamin A treatment cream.
When I am out of the Dr Haushka I will get the Derma Doctor Wrinkle Revenge

I am loving the Derma Doctor. Think I will also buy this for my mum for her birthday. I don't have any wrinkles at all yet and want it to stay that for as long as possible!

Really? I love putting in on and looking at myself in the mirror - I love seing I have no wrinkles, but my eye area does feel better for using it and prevention is the best cure, and it hasn't irritated me at all.
I am the same though - I can go out and have a huge night or really late - I will still come home, shower, and moisterise.

Yeah, I think it's my "wonder product" and personally, has been great for when the skin around my eyes has been irritated due to allergies. Nothing else is as soothing.
For others who are wondering why the rave, check out the description of it's features and ingredients at Adore. You will be amazed that one little jar could do so much!
