Hi Allison
I'm new to this forum and this is my first post.
I'm looking to revamp my beauty routine and am after some of your valuable advice...
I am 28, I have an olive complexion, combination skin and some pigmentation on the cheeks, nose and forehead. I suffered from acne a few years ago and this has left me with a few marks and redness on my cheeks.
Currently I my routine is as follows:
AM
Aveda all Sensitive Cleanser
Aveda hydrating lotion
Clarins Sunblock
PM
Aveda all Sensitive Cleanser
Pevonia Botanica Lightening Gel
Pevonia Botanica renewing glycocides cream
Pevonia Botanica evolutive eye cream
I don't feel I am getting enough from my routine and would like to start on products with active ingredients in them. I have used Ultra Ceuticals and MD in the past and found them quite good for my skin.
What I want from my beauty routine is to fade the pigmentation, add more clarity and brightness to my skin and of course anti aging
I was thinking of investing in some of the Alpha H products such as White Gold, Glycolic Mask and the balancing moisturiser but I am open to your suggestions!
I am looking to invest in a new cleanser, exfoliator, serum, daily moistuiriser and eye cream. I've read many of the posts on this forum and there seems to be a lot of really good products out there, but I have no idea where to even start! Help!
I look forward to your reply
Thanks

Hi Christina,
Sure thing, you have been looking into some good products and there are so many to choose from and yes it's a tough one to what and how to link a good few of them together to suit your skin!
So I have done this all for you! I have included some of the product that you mentioned that I know will be of help with the aim of targeting the post imflamation from the acne along with the pigmentation. We are also aiming here at loading the skin up with the good antioxidant vitamins and hydrating ingredients in order to prevent those bad dudes we sometime call fine lines!
So here goes:
AM
Cleanse with ultraceuticals gentle cleansing gel: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1821
I would recommend starting on some vitamin C to really help support this pigmentation removal with I would recommend ultraceuticals ultra c sheer cream which will also help heal post inflamation and discolouration and keep the skin clear of those break outs: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=4734
The idea of vitamin C is that it assists the skin to produce its own collagen and elastin so the skin retains its firmness, delaying aging, and assisting with pigmentation. Vitamin C also has anti inflammatory properties and inhibits UV damage to the skin and allows the skin a greater protection against the sun (although a sunblock should always be used during the day). Start by applying this every second to third day only, it will tingle on the skin to begin with. As your skin feels comfortable you can build up the frequency of use to daily.
This is applied after cleansing and then on top you would apply the protective daily moisturizer : http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=2997
Or you can use the Invisible zinc junior which is quite light on the skin too:: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewItem.asp?idproduct=9741
PM
After cleansing at night time I would suggest applying the Alpha H white gold: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=2836
This will exfoliate your skin while helping to prevent further pigmentation.
You would then apply the skinceuticals .5% retinol serum: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=8601
This one contains encapsulated retinol which will assist with break outs due to its exfoliating and de clogging functions as well as pigmentation removal also due to it’s ability to dislodge cellular build up (as aging due to its ability to stimulate collagen production). The Retinol will be a key factor in working with the vitamin C and white gold to even out the skin discolouration. Begin by using this product only twice a week (not on the same night as the white gold) and very slowly build up your frequency of use over a period of weeks so that eventually you are using the product every night. Be aware that this product may cause a tingling and mild flushing sensation at first.
Follow this with the Skinceuticals Renew overnight oily/combination mosturiser: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=9427
this has an assortment of goodies in it including a dash of AHA and botanical extracts to keep your skin clear and hydrated.
1-2 times a week I suggest using the alpha H 15% glycolic and hydration mask: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=383
This will further work on the skin texture and blockages.
As for a good hard working eye cream (to use morning and night time) I would suggest the ultraceuticals ultra ACE eye and lip treatment serum: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1835
Use the Alpha H microcleanse 2-3 times a week ( after cleaning): http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=3689
I know I have given you a lot of information there, but you did want a pretty full routine to get of top of those concerns so there you have it ! :)
Let me know how you go, just remember that pigmentation does take some time to budge (it would have built up over quite some years gradually) so stick in there and hopefully we can further the results that we have gained so far! If you do want additional help to budge the pigmentation then laser is also an option.

How do you rate Aveda? I've always wanted to try something from their range. I like their philosophy.

Hey Medusa, Aveda products are great. I started using them because I wanted more natural ingredients and less chemicals in my products. I love the hydrating lotion- it feels refreshing when applied and keeps my skin soft and supple!
