Though we already knew this bit!...
"The survey of 1898 people conducted by NEWS.com.au in conjunction with CoreData also found that word of mouth is the strongest influencer when it comes to beauty product purchases and that celebrity endorsement is the least influencing fact."
But would we?...
The increasing popularity of male grooming was also reflected in the survey, with half of female respondents saying they think it’s OK for a man to wear make-up and 30 per cent claiming they would date a man who wore make-up. :shockedhair:

OMG!
Haven't read it but if i found out a guy I was dating was wearing makeup I'm thinking I'd be questioning why!
Skin care is OK but makeup! Not sure I can deal with that!!! :shockedhair:

I agree, I would be really shocked and freaked out to find out a guy I was with is wearing makeup ! That just does not sit right with me... maybe the people taking the survey wanted to show the whole 'equality' thing? I know if I asked my friends the same question, I dont think they would be ok with their guy wearing makeup!

I wouldn't be cool with guys wearing make-up but lot's of Emo boys wear make-up so perhaps that's what women had in mind when they did the survey? Personally I do not find eyeliner on boys hot but I know I did when I was younger.

I think eyeliner and skinny jeans on guys is so hot! e.g. Jared Leto in 30 Seconds to Mars.
My boy is not having a bar of it though! :( ha ha

I actually did that survey and struggled with the men in make-up questions. I think it is ok for some, but I decided that no, I am not into it and I could not go out with a man that wears make-up (think back to all of our reactions when we discovered Napoleon is married with kids!!!!!). However I agree with Nattieb regarding skincare - this I advocate!

Sorry guys I think men wearing makeup is just plain scary!
Ok they use it on men in television and film etc all the time but it doesn't actually look like they are wearing makeup (with the exception of Mrs Doubtfire and Big Mumma etc). The men who work at the M.A.C Counter in Melbourne city look absolutely hideous in my opinion. I took my somewhat conservative Mother in to make some purchases when last in Melbourne, you should have seen her jaw drop, but they really did look like drag queens so........

I hate it too PCC, I find any kind of makeup on men a huge turnoff, and I even hate to see men who have plucked eyebrows (plucked into a shape I mean, not plucked to remove a monobrow). Have you ever seen the fashion designer Richard De Chazal? Anyway he's from Townsville so I see him around here quite a lot and he is TERRIFYING up close. Like Napoleon on crack.

Ehmmmm........ not for me thanks. I grew up in a rural area, with fishermen, forestry workers and the like, so that's what I like in a man, a bit of ruggedness.
That said, does anyone else remember the New Romantics? You know, Duran Duran, Spandau, Flock of Seagulls (although that guys hair frightened me badly), The Cure, all wore makeup. Not Boy George or the guy from Dead or Alive, that was waaaaaaaayyyyyy too much. Some of the aforementioned were HOT!!
Or punk? Now, there were/are some very fine looking fellas who wear more makeup in 1 night than I do in a year, but I'd never, ever date one! And there's no way the husband would get made up for anything other than a joke, so I guess that's just as well.
